Mary Emma Anne Armstrong died peacefully at St.Michael’s Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, on August 5, 2024 in her 89th year. Daughter of the late Grace Hiland and Edmond Armstrong. Predeceased by her loving sister Ruth.
Anne worked as an accountant at CN Rail for 35 years, initially in Toronto followed by 30 years in Montreal. After retirement, Anne returned to her beloved Beach community where she lived with her sister Ruth until her death in 2017. Anne was a longstanding member of the Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church. An avid prose poetry writer and artist, Anne frequently delighted friends by sharing her writing and artwork. Anne took a special interest in the children in the neighborhood. Every September, she would provide them with spiral notebooks to start their new school year. Anne will be sadly missed by her many friends and neighbours. A special thank you to the St. Michael’s Palliative Care Team for their care and comfort during Anne’s last days.

A visitation for Anne will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Giffen-Mack & Trull Funeral Home, 2570 Danforth Ave, Toronto, ON, M4C1L3. A church service will occur Thursday, August 15, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Corpus Christi Church, 16 Lockwood Rd, Toronto, ON, M4L 3M8. A graveside service will be held Thursday, August 15, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 8361 Yonge St, Markham, ON, L3T 2C7.
