Marjorie Augusta Yorke

It is with great sadness the family announces the death of Marjorie Augusta Yorke. Marjorie's long life ended peacefully at 6:30pm on Sunday, October 16, 2011 in her ninety-first year. Born April 15, 1921 in Midland, Ontario. Marjorie was well known throughout her life for her lively spirit and quick step. Predeceased by her husband Gilbert Yorke. Beloved mother to Kathy (Sandy), Bill, Jim (Sharon) and Linda (Wilfrid). "Dancing Grandma" will be held dear in the hearts of her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Marj will be dearly missed by her sister Ethel Jackson (Pardon). She will also be missed by her many friends at St. Chad's Anglican Church, at the Second Mile Club and by surviving members of the dance ensemble "The Rockettes". Family will receive friends at the Jerrett Funeral Home (1141 St. Clair Ave. W.) in Toronto on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 11am. Burial to follow at Prospect Cemetery (1450 St. Clair Ave. W.) In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marjorie may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or the St. Chad's Anglican Church.
