Giselle and Elon, please accept our deepest sympathy  on the loss your wonderful mother. It was always a joy to see Marie. She was always cheerful and interested to know how the children were doing and the rest of the family. She will be missed by all.

Dear Dr. Elon Griffith, Dr Jiselle Griffith and extended family.  

It is with deep sadness that we express our sympathy on the passing of your caring and loving Mom.  We know your Mom was a special lady, a person of deep faith, devoted to both of her children because whenever we spoke she mentioned covering both of you in her daily prayers as well as her Auntie Ettie and other family and friends in Trinidad.

Through her love, you and everyone in her path will remember the special times shared at Church celebrations, graduations (Jiselle especially yours, she was elated at your accomplishments) birthday parties, lunches, dinners and many family gatherings.

Just like a rose lingers its fragrance when it is gone, it will comfort you to sweetly reminisce all the special moments shared.  Her prayers, fun times, laughter and like most normal parents with strict parental guidance provided over the years, you will be proud of your mother's life well lived.

When you called us on Saturday evening shortly after your Mom's passing, we could hear it in your cracked voices that both of you were suffering your loss very deeply and painfully.  However, it is good to know she passed peacefully and is now with her Savior. She was special otherwise you would not have turned out to be the wonderful persons you are.  Please know you will always remain in our thoughts and prayers and may her soul rest in eternal peace. God's Blessings.

My deepest sympathies to Marilyn's family. I met Marilyn once when she had dropped by CUPE National Office, and I was a new recruit. Marilyn opened up to me. She had a lot of concern for others and their well being. May her soul rest in peace.

I was so shocked and saddened to read of Marilyn's passing. My deepest condolences Jiselle.  Marilyn was always so warm, conscientious and kind.  She was such a pleasure to work with.   Sorry I can not be there for her memorial.  Big hugs to you.

I want to express my condolences over your mother's passing.  She was a beautiful person who was always ready to help every person she met.  She will be missed. Unfortunately I can't attend her visitation and service but I will keep her and you in our thoughts and prayers.

I am at a loss to describe our 15+ year's bond. Marilyn although not a `Blood Sister' she always referred to me as her Sister since we met in late summer 2002. I have a birthday coming soon she said to me Sept 26th, I smiled and replied mine is the 25th. (Incidentally her middle name is "Bernadette" how ironic.)
Every year since then, we celebrated together, and exchanged "Sister Cards" hers had to be a perfect keepsake as she always insisted.
We were there for each other during our Husbands illnesses and their respective passing
Visits with my Parents (now deceased) and my many siblings for family gatherings.  Marilyn was always included and considered as one of "The Brew".
We made trips to Niagara Falls, Ottawa, and Orillia and in 2007 both of us took a trip to Trinidad & St. Kitts (Music Festival).  We had a Blast. Although Marilyn was afraid of heights and flying, she eventually settled down and enjoyed the 3 week vacation on both Islands.
Through the years, during winter retreats to St. Kitts, when Mom was still alive, we were only just a phone call away and spoke almost daily.
Back in Toronto, shopping at The Bay (which she called my Father's store) Canadian Tire, or driving around for bargains were fun times for us. Saturday afternoon Mass was the norm, until last summer when she was experiencing some health issues.
2017 was a very challenging year for our family as we had the unfortunate experience of the daily trips to the hospital to be with one of my younger sister who was battling Cancer.  Debbie lost her battle on Jan 4th, 2018. A month later I have lost another Sister, Marilyn.  
Both of them were thoughtful, loving, Generous Mothers, who provided the best for their kids. What a Legacy.  Elon, Giselle (Children) Auntie Ettie & all other family members and close friends who had the good fortune to have known Marilyn, we hope you know how much she  was love respected and appreciated for the many good deeds.   May her Soul Rest in Peace.

Please accept my shock, deepest sympathy and sadness on the loss of beloved Marilyn.  She was generous of spirit and in the short years that I  knew her at CUPE, she was the Big Sister with a ready smile that made her very affable.
With sincere regrets for not being able to pay her my last respects, I pray for  her family to find peace and strength to bear this great loss. May she rest in everlasting peace.

Danny and I were shocked to hear about your mother's death. We will remember her wonderful smile and usual good cheer. While we will be unable to attend on Saturday we will be thinking of you, Elon and Giselle. We hope as time passes you will be thinking only of the best memories of the years you did have with her.
