Mrs. Maria Ferreira

Surrounded by loved ones, Maria passed peacefully away on April 20, 2014 at the age of 92 years old; 2 weeks shy of her 93rd birthday of natural causes. Predeceased by her loving husband Kelso. Loving mother to Chris (Larry) and Miguel (Jerry). Special Abuela to Jason, Aidan, Keegan, Devon and Kyle. Great grandmother to Jackson and Nathan. Dear sister to Lizzie of Florida. Predeceased by her sisters Mirita, Lucy and Alice, and brothers John, Luis, Bill, Henry and Carlos. Maria will be missed by her extended family and friends.

Maria was a strong, resilient fighter and a beautiful person inside and out. She and Kelso loved nothing better to entertain in their homes in Florida or in Canada. Most importantly Mom loved her family and friends and spending time with them. She will be deeply missed.

A special thank you to the staff of Leisureworld O’Connor Gate for their great care of Mom in her final years.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (Mom was a breast cancer survivor of 35 years) and the Alzheimer Society of Ontario.
