Margaret was born in Casterton, Victoria, Australia on March 11, 1935. She is survived by her beloved husband Ho Kei Choi; their daughters and spouses: Jennifer, Janice (Perry), Kim Paulyn (Sherman), Lisa (Kevin), and Kaylene (Terry); and grandchildren: Erika, Jasmine, Michael, Alexis, Andrew, Sarah, Ashley, Matthew, and Ryan.
Margaret was a Lieutenant in the Salvation Army in Australia and a member of the Courageous Session graduating class. She shared her passion for Christ through singing hymns, attending bible studies, and exclaiming "Hallelujah!" during church services. She lived in Singapore for nine years, calling it one of the “pinnacles of her life.” She was the pillar in the Choi family. A wife who supported her husband. A mother who cared for her daughters through life's challenges. A grandmother who loved each grandchild equally. With her warm, inviting smile she shared her kindness with others by participating in volunteer opportunities. She had talents for playing the piano, singing, and completing crosswords. She often sang with a Chinese choir and at Bethel Gospel Tabernacle. Margaret's joyful spirit brightened the moods of all who were nearby. Her quick-witted humour and puns were sure to make anyone smile (or groan!). Her legacy is the impact she has made in the lives she has touched.
A private service will be held on October 14, 2021, at 11:00 am (ET) and will be streamed online.
