May 2, 1943 – June 1, 2023
Louis passed away peacefully with his daughter Tina, son Kim and sister Francoise by his side at Casey House (palliative/hospice care place).
Born and raised in Earlton, Ontario, he moved to Toronto as a young adult and found employment with CCM where he worked for seven years before the company relocated to Montreal, Quebec.
He then started his own business in building maintenance and painting, and worked for many years for two apartment owners before retiring.
Louis looked forward to his yearly fishing vacations with his brother, sister and brother-in-law on the Blanche River and Lake Temiskaming. He was also a bowler and a baseball player, playing these sports for many years.
His other hobbies were reading, cooking and doing puzzles.
He will be remembered for his love of sports. He was an avid, diehard fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and Montreal Canadiens, recapping game highlights in numerous phone conversations with his family.
He will also be remembered for his sweet tooth, particularly for chocolate and lemon meringue pie.
Predeceased by his parents Alcide and Cecile Leveille (Vezeau), his sister Evelyn Williams, brother Rene Leveille and partner Frank Kilby.
Survived by his children Tina (husband Nelson) and Kim (fiancée Vanessa); grandchildren Chelsea, Kayla, David and Talia; brothers Paul Leveille (wife Clara) and Alfred Leveille (wife Medora); sister Francoise Karas (Leveille) (husband Walter); and several nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to dear friends Alex Wilmont and Beth Margolis, who were so helpful and caring towards Louis throughout the years. These beautiful ladies always went above and beyond.
Louis was a fighter battling many bouts of various cancers and heart disease. He had a strong desire to live and did not give up easily; despite his adversities he never complained.
He was a kind, gentle soul who was not afraid of passing but only sad to leave his loved ones behind.
As per his wishes there was no viewing. Cremation was done with Dignity Memorial in Toronto and his ashes will be brought to Forest Lawn cemetery in London, Ontario, where he will be buried beside his brother Rene Leveille and partner Frank Kilby.
Donations to Casey House (caseyhouse.ca) in loving memory of Louis would be greatly appreciated by his children.Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.rosar-morrison.com for the Leveille family.
