Lloyd Earl Wade, a beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on the 26th of December, 2022 at St. Michael’s hospital in Toronto, with his daughter and close family friend by his side. Lloyd was sick for a while with liver and kidney problems. Lloyd E. Wade was born on July 3rd 1946 to Roselda Freckleton and Joseph Wade in St. Catherine, Jamaica. Lloyd was the 2nd of 10 children to Roselda. Lloyd met Doris where they had five children together of which 2 have passed away. In 1973, Lloyd met Mavis Johnson at the time and fell in love. Mavis had 1 son at that time who now has passed away. Mavis never had any children with Lloyd but she adopted all of Lloyd’s children as her own. Mavis migrated to Canada in 1979 and Lloyd followed in 1980. In 1983 Lloyd’s mother passed away and Lloyd returned to Jamaica to bury his mother. Unable to return to Canada, he stayed in Jamaica and worked as a painter / construction worker. In 1986 Mavis returned to Jamaica and married Lloyd. Lloyd migrated back to Canada in 1990 where they lived happily together until Lloyd passed away. Lloyd had his last visit back to Jamaica in September of 2022 where he got to see his beloved sister Brownskin. Lloyd is predeceased by his sisters Ruby, Leithy, Viveen and brothers Winston and Hensel. Survived by his wife Mavis, daughters Nezlyn, Gwendolyn, Marcia, Tasha and son Leslie, 25 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, sisters, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation for Lloyd will be held Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 11 to 1 PM at Giffen-Mack and Trull Funeral Home, 2570 Danforth Ave, Toronto, ON. A funeral service will occur following the visitation at 1:00 PM, at the Funeral Home. The committal service following the funeral, will occur at Pine Hills Cemetery, 625 Birchmount Rd, Toronto, ON.
