Our condolences to all who knew and loved Lisa. At Microcosm, we've distributed her Frugal Vegan zines for many years. On any normal day, a young person will come in and spend several hours browsing everything in our store, and end up leaving with one or more of her zines clutched tightly in their hand. She has created something that truly gives people fuel, purpose, and the knowledge that they aren't alone in what they care about most. Her work will stay in print and hopefully inspire more folks to live with the same creativity and passion. <3

I'm in a wheelchair and Lisa always made sure none of my bare tummy was exposed exposed to the chill air!Straightening all my clumsy duds! Also at the market she'd take valuable time and repack my bags!The last time I saw her she unpacked her large carry-all bag for me to use! Sometimes Life in its low-knee flutterings dispatches its sweet bird chirps on a surprise of mild zephyr 'till we are made dizzy by our stumble into her kind embrace! She'll be sorely missed in our driven glides to a better world! Steve Myland

Lisa was a good friend, and I feel fortunate to have been able to call her "friend". I will miss her and our irregular but meaningful exchanges. The world she has touched certainly became a bit brighter because of contributions.  My sincere condolences to you Walter, Louise and Peter.   Big hugs to everyone.

I knew Lisa only barely, having met her just a couple of times. I knew her through a dear mutual friend of us both. She made an impression on me though. She was kind and caring and intelligent, and the world is a lesser place in her absence.

We were fortunate to have met Lisa recently. It was a brief meeting, yet we were quite taken by her personality and intelligence. She shared her love of nature and the environment, describing the many natural products she made at home. Lisa left a lasting impression on us.

Lisa was without a doubt her own person in so many ways. One could say "A rebel against conformity" with passion and love of life in everything she did. It is such an honour to have known Lisa - she made such a difference in my life that I will carry with me forever. 
Lisa's departure was too soon...too sudden.

I can see many feel the same about this sudden loss. Lisa was the first person I met when I landed in this city, and she opened my eyes up to the possibilities. It's hard to believe someone who shined so bright could be gone now. I won't forget her calm but persistent nature, and most of all her warm peppermint pattie voice. She was a real rare gem. My thoughts are with you Walter, and my deepest sympathies to all family and friends.

Walt, Louise and Peter Trying to find the right words to say, nothing seems like enough.  Lisa was a true gift to this world.  She was always quick to help and was always reinventing how she could make a difference, of which she did and did with great passion.  I cannot imagine life without her. I am very shocked and saddened to learn of Lisa's death. My heartfelt condolences to Walter, Louise and Peter.

This is such a shock. I didn't know Lisa well - I only met her as a volunteer at Food Not Bombs and the Really Really Free Market - but her passion for sustainability and her easy-going and positive nature was evident to everyone she met. She will be missed.
