Larry was born on May 1, 1933, in the village of Stubbs, on the island of St. Vincent. He was the son of George and Veneta Dickson. Larry is the father of two sons, Glen Dickson and Ray Dickson, grandfather of Temeika, Jerome, Jasmin, Tyrone and Jeromia Dickson, and Glendon, Dominique, Mercedes, Essence and Scarlet Dickson, and great-grandfather of Kimori and Khalil Dickson. As a member of a large family, he was a brother to his siblings and uncle to his many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He is survived by his loving wife Gloria Beatrice Dickson and her children Colin Duncan, Carol and Ian, and grand-daughter Taija, and his brothers Amos Washington Dickson and Brinsley Dickson, and sister Linda Dickson Spanier.
Larry was a tailor by profession, beginning in Trinidad before emigrating first to New York City, and then to Toronto. He was an expert tailor and produced high quality garments for his clients through his shop Mr. Larry’s Tailoring. In fact, many affectionately referred to him as Tailor or Mr. Larry long after he retired.
He will be remembered as a caring husband, father, family member and friend by all who knew and loved him.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 21, 2022, at Jerrett Funeral Home – Scarborough Chapel, 660 Kennedy Road, Toronto, ON M1K 2B5. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Pine Hills Cemetery, 625 Birchmount Road, Scarborough, Ontario, M1K 1R1.
