Our condolences to the Short family on the loss of Ken. He was a friend to everyone; always willing to engage in a conversation and always with a smile. He will be missed.

It is with deep sadness to learn of the passing of Mr.  Kenneth Short.
I had the honour and privilege of serving both Mr. Short and his late wife as a grounds keeper for their lovely and well kept home on Prestwick for well over 20 years.  In that time we became friends and I looked forward to seeing Ken and Thelma on my weekly visits to cut the grass. Mr. Short was always in a good mood as he warmly greeted me each time we met. He had a wonderful smile and a warm, gentle manner that made you feel welcomed and appreciated.  I will truly miss him. My heart goes out to the Short family on the loss of your father so soon after the passing of your beloved mother, Thelma.

I have many fond memories of my father-in-law. He was a strong and gentle man. I remember the first time he took me up to the family cottage on a May long weekend and treated me to Weber’s! He loved being at the cottage with his family. We would often wake up to the sounds of ‘Buzzy Bear’ trying to get us going in the morning for a day filled with fun, laughter, swimming and a boat ride! My fondest memories of Dad are those that revolve around his time with his grandchildren. Dad was often the biggest kid of the bunch, whether it was playing hockey on the driveway, filling the bird feeders, climbing the apple tree, driving into Magnetawan for a newspaper and treat for every grandchild, or celebrating his birthday or anybody’s birthday for that matter! He cherished his time with his grandchildren and the rest of his family very much. He had a great smile and his laugh was infectious! He was always a great host, making sure you had a nice glass of Chardonnay before dinner and something to munch on! He enjoyed having people for dinner, lighting the candles and loved the treats that followed dinner. I will always think of him and the twinkle in his eye when I have a Laura Secord French Mint! With the many trips to Baskin Robbins for ice cream and birthday cakes, Dad could have been their spokesperson! There are so many memories that I had the honor of sharing with Dad over the years. I will cherish them all. His passing is sad, but knowing he is together with Mom brings us peace. I know they are holding hands and watching over us. Dad, I will miss you, but will carry you in my heart and memories always.

Dear family, We were so sorry to hear of Ken's passing, especially so soon after Thelma. Although he had been at Sunnybrooke for a couple years, it seems like he must have been too heart broken after losing his dear wife, to hang on longer. We will surely miss both of them and again send you our deepest sympathy. 
 Being a 1st cousin to Thelma, but 17 yrs. younger,  I thought back then, that she sure had found a handsome fellow. He turned out to be just as nice inside and I admired him for much more than his good looks. He was such a gentle sweet man; intelligent; many wonderful qualities; thoughtful; fun loving. We sang in the choir together for many years at St. Luke's and then when I started the Summer Singers choir in Magnetawan, Ken joined that and sang with us every year for whichever month he was at the cottage. We'll sing together again some day in the heavenly choir.
 Thanks be to God for the Resurrection victory of our Lord Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Redeemer.

Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of Ken Short.  I worked with him many years ago in the Engineering and Architectural Services Department at Imperial Oil.  I remember him fondly as being a cheerful person and a great colleague.  I was happy to have seen him and his wife, Thelma,  many years later during a few excursions with the Esso Annuitant club. They were both great people.   And they are together again in eternal life.   Rest in peace Ken and Thelma!

Sorry to hear of Kens passing. I worked with Ken for a few years in 1989-90. Ken was a lovely gentleman alway very kind and happy
person. I have thought of him over the years. 
He always had a smile!
