Surrounded by loving family, Kathleen passed away peacefully in the very early hours of Thursday June 1, 2017. She will be greatly missed by her Children Larry (Peggy), Phil (Heather), Kathy (Stuart), Joan (Mike) and Sean (Susan). She had 13 Grand Children and 20 Great Grand Children who will all miss her dearly. Reunited in Heaven with her beloved Siblings and Brother in Law Charlie and the rest of the Willowdale crowd. There will be a large crow fest and good catch up happening. We should have warned Granny that "trouble" was coming.
She was born in 1927 in Ireland in to family of 9 siblings, she immigrated in 1952, she raised her Family in East Toronto. She was famous for her Fudge, Irish Bread, Roast Beef Dinners and prize winning Yorkies, buttertarts, dancing "The Slosh", and her entertaining "Irish" stories. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. She loved organizing bus trips for friends to Buffalo, and large family dinners that lasted in to the wee hours. Kay Volunteered for 15 years at Scarborough General Hospital, when she entered the hospital for care following her years of service a special acknowledgement was made to let others know that a beloved volunteer was in there care.
Celebration of Life @ Jerrett Funeral Home, 660 Kennedy Road, Scarborough 1:00-3:30. Friends and Family welcome to share stories, lunch and remembrance. No Suits, No Black. Come dressed in Brights to celebrate her Colourful Life. She lived till she died and she did it her way!
Our sincerest Thanks to the Amazing Caring and Compassionate Staff (Her Home Care Family) at Midland Gardens. It deeply moved our family that so many of you took time to come by and say goodbye to Mom, From the nurses to the kitchen staff you all showed such compassion and love for someone you knew for such a short time of her life.
