Her earliest summers were spent at her McCarthy grandparents' "JUSTAMERE COTTAGE", B-Say-Tah Point, on the shores of Echo Lake, Fort Qu'Appelle, SK. These were some of her happiest times spent with her family, Devine cousins and dearest friends. In her later years, she spent so many idyllic days on Toronto Island with, Peter McLaughlin. Judy had lots of fun with the Huschilts at Mink Lake, Hastings Highlands ON.
Judy attended Saint Mary's Academy in Winnipeg MB. In 1995 Judy graduated from York University, Toronto ON, with a degree in English.
Judy was introduced to the theatre by her father Moray Sinclair. She first stepped onto a stage when she was six years old. She was a stage veteran while still in her early twenties, appearing in I Remember Mama, The Remarkable, Mr. Pennypacker, Philadelphia Story, Our Town, Twelfth Night, Arsenic and Old Lace, The Crucible, and The Moon is Blue. She took part in more than 600 CBC radio plays, did film roles for the National Film Board. Some of her later films include Don't Say a Word (2001), Lucky Number Slevin (2006), and Away From Her (2006). She will also be remembered for her numerous television commercials and print ads.
Judy's agent Rich Caplan writes: Whether she was bounding into her agent's office in one of her outrageous outfits, feathers flying behind her; whether she was breathlessly rushing onto a film set, a sound booth, a theatre stage, it was always a good day. Her presence brightened everyone's mood, every time. I don't know a soul who didn't appreciate her effervescence, her raw energy, her sublime ridiculousness, her keen intelligence, her genuine sensitivity, and her immense talent. Not too many people literally brighten the room simply by walking into it. Judy was one of those. She was one of a kind.
We say that all the time and sometimes don't really mean it. But Judy really was. She was the real deal. She'll never be replaced. And she'll never be forgotten.
Judy has been a blessing to all of us, we pray that now she is blessing us from Heaven.
Sincere gratitude goes to her wonderful caregiver Katia Freitas, the nurses, and the entire staff at Kensington Gardens especially Tsitsi Munemo and Cordelie Smith.
