He was married to Denise (née Mole) on October 11, 1975. Joe is survived by wife, Denise; sons, Michael and Charles; brother, William (Lois) Catalano; and sister, Frances (Bill) McLaughlin.
Joe was predeceased by parents, Leonardo and Maria Catalano; and sister, Kay (Leonardo) Catalano. Joe was known for his love of woodworking, photography, and bowling. He retired from the TTC as a bus driver in 1999 after over 31 years.
He was characterized for his never-ending patience, faith, strong work ethic, and love of family.
Visitation and memorial service will both be held at Kane-Jerrett North York Funeral Home (6191 Yonge St., Toronto). The visitation will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2022, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. The memorial service will be held in the chapel on Monday, December 12, 2022, at 10 a.m. Burial and reception to follow. The family requests that people make donations in support of St. John's Rehab at Sunnybrook, in lieu of flowers. He will be fondly remembered by his friends, nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families.
