John leaves behind nieces Roisin Gleeson,Niamh Walsh, Carol Slattery and nephew Ronin Slattery. Predeceased by brother Joseph Slattery and sister-in-law Teresa as well as nephew Eamon Slattery.
Born on June 18, 1934, in Limerick, Ireland, John spent his formative years in Dublin before moving to
London, England to seek better employment opportunities. He gained a reputation as a quick study and after several years he emigrated to Canada where he worked first at Fisher Scientific and then joined staff
at The University of Toronto.
John was a very active member at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Toronto
and did volunteer work bringing the mass to residents at nearby Fudger House.
A Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes, 520 Sherbourne St, Toronto on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 10am.
