John Patrick O’Connor, born June 26, 1984, Toronto, Ontario was called home to be with God our loving Father. He was the beloved son of Tom and Anne Marie O’Connor. John, as he was affectionately known, was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering Faith in God. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember John the way he lived his life and the profound impact he had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
John is survived by his loving parents’ Tom and Anne Marie O’Connor his grandmother Mary Alice Sisk (whom he visited every Monday), his two amazing brothers Michael (Wendy and Matthias) and Andrew (Paige and Rhys), whom he always greeted with hugs and goodbyes saying, “I love you”.
He also leaves behind his many aunts and uncles who adored him dearly. Among them are Michael and Linda O’Connor, Brian and Heather O’Connor (John’s God Parents), Sheila O’Connor, Patty O’Connor (deceased) and David Houlden, Paul and Linda Sisk, Michael and Ana Sisk, Joseph (deceased) and Betty Sisk, and a host of many cousins who shared in his joyful spirit.
Johns’ life embarked on spreading the message of love and hope. For the last four years of John’s life, he struggled with Epilepsy. John was very grateful to the Epilepsy Toronto who gave him support, as he loved volunteering at the Festival of Lights and they connected him with the Toronto Marriott City Center Hotel, where he loved getting up and going to work every day. John was their Concierge and loved people. Service to others was John’s Vocation.
John will be missed by all who knew him especially his dad, mom, grandma, Michael, Andrew, Paige, and his darling niece Rhys whom he loved beyond the stars and back. God Bless.
In Lieu of flowers please donate on behalf of John to the Epilepsy Toronto, Canadian Cancer Research Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
