John Chung Hong Cheung

John Chung Hong Cheung of Mississauga, Ontario passed away surrounded by family on December 28, 2023. He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Ae Ja Cheung. Loving father of Michael Cheung and his wife Lucy Cheung; his daughter Christine Cheung Shepheard and her husband Shawn Shepheard. Proud grandfather of Alysia Cheung and Sophia Cheung.

John immigrated to Canada in 1966 from South Korea. He met Ae Ja in Toronto and they married in 1968. They raised a loving family together where they continued to create memories at family gatherings and vacations. In addition to John’s love of travel, he also had a passion for golfing with friends, and especially with his wife. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, sense of humour, steadfast belief in respect for one another, and devotion to the Korean Catholic community.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 3, 2024 from 5 – 6 pm at the Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home, 6191 Yonge Street, North York. Prayer service will follow on Wednesday evening at 6 pm. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday January 4, 2024 at 11 am at St. Andrew Kim Catholic Church, 849 Don Mills Road, North York.
