Well Joan, you are now in your resting place,and may you rest in peace! Please be the Angel that watches over your best girls, Jo-Anne, Shirley, Sherry, Sandy, Amanda, Sydney and Danielle. The rest of us can be reassured and comforted knowing that you are resting in heaven peacefully and without pains, struggles, and so much more as you have endured here on earth. It is really sad that you are no longer laughing and sharing some outragiously funny stories with us.  You'll certainly be missed on those Casino Bus trips. (Poor driver, now who is he going to laugh and flirt with?) You will be remembered forever and forgotten never.

Sending each of you my deepest condolences in the loss of your wonderful mother and a terrific aunt.

While heaven rejoices in gaining an angel, we who are left behind mourn Joan's passing.

The pain of losing your mother is a gut-wrenching loss and will be felt as a deep and abiding pain for a very long time. 

The joy of knowing [Aunt] Joan and experiencing all the goodness that she shared by her very presence is part of the legacy that she has left behind for us to carry in our hearts and to share with the world - but right now, it is hard to see past the pain - but it will come - in time - for Joan loved life immensely and she would not want those who loved her to remain mired in feelings of grief and loss.

With love and fondness I remember our times spent together as we traipsed across the road to the Golden Griddle or when we just sat about and played cards (euchre, etc.), and how we would go to the local malls or Joan would come over to dinner.  I recall how Aunt Joan took great delight in her sojourns to Casino Rama (Barrie).  I remember taking Aunt Joan and Aunt Shirley (Paula's mom) to visit with Aunt Pat in Hamilton and it was so good to spend time with them.

With love and affection, I recall our many chats on the telephone. It is hard to imagine not being able to pick up the phone and to give Joan a call and do a quick catch-up. But I will always cherish the love and memories that I have of your dear and wonderful mother - my beloved Aunt Joan.

May the memories that you have of your mother warm your hearts and ease the pain of her passing.

Thinking of you with love and fondness at this time of sorrow - know that you are in my heart, thoughts and prayers.

Please accept my heartfelt sympathies sent to you during this time of extreme loss and sorrow.

As you know, your mother was a truly noteworthy woman who touched the lives of so many and in so doing, she illuminated the world with her beauty and charm making it a much better place.

Losing a mother is such a terrible burden to bear, no matter the age (hers or yours) and as you face that great chasm of seemingly endless pain, loss and sorrow, please know that there are many people who share in your loss and grieve with you.

May the memories that you have of your mother warm your hearts as you move forward and provide solace for a spirit ravaged by grief.

Please allow me to share in my memories of Joan:  She was, in my mind's eye, a dymanic woman with pep and personality to spare, and she was always full of laughter and joy - and she certainly had spunk and when warranted, a fiery temper. During this time of extreme sorrow and heartache, we will need to rely upon one another and our fondest memories to soothe the ache that we each feel at this astounding loss, and to help to carry us through this most difficult time.

But we can rejoice in knowing that Joan brought exceptional beauty and light to this world as she graced us with her presence.  The vast array of wondrous memories that we each hold dear, will, in time, overshadow the shock and loss felt at losing such a remarkable woman.

For my part, I will always remember Aunt Joan with much love and fondness and the good times shared...for we had so many...our treks across the road to Golden Griddle for a bite to eat...our jaunts to the mall, or just playing cards...Joan coming over to our apartment for a visit and/or dinner...her sojourns to Casino Rama in Barrie, and of course, our numerous telephone calls...

All these memories are safely stored in my keeping and I will treasure them always.  It is my wish and desire for each of you, that you will cling to and cherish the memories of your mother - such a remarkable woman and a truly wonderful aunt...and may these memories help to ease the pain of loss that is borne this day.
