Joan Richard

August 26, 1919 – October 21, 2014

At the age of 95, died peacefully in her sleep on October 21, 2014 at Toronto Grace Hospital at 9:25 pm. Predeceased by her husband George Richard (1983).Father Gilbert Attwood (1968) and Mother Annie Coward (1942). Also predeceased by her sisters Alice Barrett and her husband Sidney, Addie and Addie’s husband Leslie James, all from England. Survived by her daughter Joann Marie Richard (John). Joan was a past president of the East York Cedarville Club for over 40 years, and enjoyed travelling with the club as well as knitting, gardening, reading books and playing cards. She will be deeply missed by all of the members of the club. Joan was Married to George Richard in England and sometime after the war in 1946 came to Canada as a war bride. Joan will be greatly missed her niece Louise and her family in Vancouver as well as her nephews Roger James and Phillip James and all of their family in England. Family and friends will be received at THE GIFFEN-MACK DANFORTH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL (LOCATED AT MAIN SUBWAY STATION) 2570 DANFORTH AVE, TORONTO ONTARIO (416-698-3121) for a visitation on Sunday, November 2 from 1-3 pm and 5-7 pm. A service will be held in the GIFFEN-MACK CHAPEL on Monday, November 3rd at 11 am. Burial to follow service at Bethel Pioneer Cemetery located at 737 Kennedy Rd. Scarborough, Ontario.
