Jessie May Campbell

(May17,1918 - September 25, 2017)

With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our wonderful mother Jessie, at True

Davidson Acres, Toronto. Beloved wife for 75 years to the late Alexander Campbell.

Loving mother to Janice (Jennie) Ackerman, Elizabeth Campbell-Keays (Jim) and Dr. Bruce Campbell.

Predeceased by her sister Evelyn and brother John, numerous sister and brother-in-laws, niece

and nephews. She will be missed by her sister Nina (Williamson) and sister-in-laws Elva (Barrowman) and Joan Campbell (Knuff).

Jessie cherished her many nieces and nephews and their children.

She found strength in family, friends and her faith. Mom loved her Leaside community and was a member

of Leaside Presbyterian Church since 1952. Always thinking of others, she volunteered in various

capacities over many years helping young mothers and toddlers, community seniors

groups and community projects at the Church. She received an award for her countless hours

of volunteer service from East York Community Care.

Jessie will be remembered for her joyful smile, fairness of character, selflessness, and an appreciation

for all of her blessings. Always seeing the glass half full and

striving to “speak well of people or not speak at all”. The family truly appreciates the caring support of staff,

residents and volunteers at True Davidson Acres for Jessie.

A Celebration of Jessie’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to

The Salvation Army or to True Davidson Acres would be appreciated.
