We are so sorry for your loss Shelley.  It was a shock to hear about Jim.  We had planned to come to the service but Stan was feeling ill this morning & didn’t think he could make it. 
They spend many years together going back to their Teens & started working at Metro together..  Stan will miss their many phone conversations they had on a regular basis.

I have many treasured memories of the times Jim, Shelley and myself have spent together over the years.  I will remember the smile, twinkle in his eye and the advice he offered from time to time.  He loved the squirrels that would eat the peanuts from his hand, and all  the birds and wildlife that frequented their home. I will always have a special place for him in my heart and he will be missed. Rest In Peace.

Very sad to hear the news of Jim's passing. I used to sit with him and Shelly at the cottage in the morning and we had some lengthy talks. Good ole Blue was never very far away. Jim loved Shelly, Blue and the cottage. Sincere condolences to Shelly and the rest of the family.

Jim will be missed. I met Jim just after we moved to Hastings. He just stopped by one day to say hello and introduce himself. He was always interested in what I was doing or working on and always would say "HI" to our dog Skye. I will miss the most is how he and Shelley would drive by, slow down, look, and the consistent "BEEP, BEEP" just to say hello. 
Our sincere condolences to Shelley, and all his family and friends. You will be missed, but our memories and thoughts of Jim will last forever.

Although we were not lucky enough to have known Jim a long time, in the short years we spent living near him he was always a smiling face we would encounter on our walks.  He always had a story and a cold beer and a made us feel welcome.  He will be missed.

Today, I want to share a few words about my stepdad, Jim McLagan, a man who profoundly impacted my life and the lives of many others. Jim was 78 when he passed, but the stories, wisdom, and love he left behind are timeless.

Jim had a unique bond with the outdoors. He found immense joy in the simple pleasures of nature, whether he was fishing by the lake, or just sitting on the picnic bench watching the boats sail by, enjoying a cold beer. His love for animals was equally profound, and throughout his life, he always had a dog by his side. Those loyal companions were more than pets; they were family, sharing in his adventures and providing unwavering companionship.

One of the things I'll miss most about Jim is his storytelling. He had a way of bringing tales to life, weaving humor and wisdom into every narrative. His stories were not just entertaining; they were lessons wrapped in laughter, guiding us with his experiences and insights. Whether he was recounting a childhood adventure or sharing a piece of life advice, Jim's words always resonated deeply.

Jim was a source of steady, reliable advice. Whenever I needed guidance, he was there, offering thoughtful and caring counsel. 

To me, Jim was more than a stepdad; he was a mentor and a friend. His love for nature, animals, and the simple joys of life has left an indelible mark on my heart. I will always carry with me the lessons he taught and the memories we shared.

Rest in peace, Jim. You will be dearly missed, but your spirit will continue to inspire and guide us.

Jim was a great man who always had an interesting story to share. He had alot of knowledge and always gave great advice. His love for his wife  Shelley and his passion for the outdoors will be remembered by all who knew him. Jim's life was a blessing and his memory will be a treasure.

So sorry to hear of Jim's death. He and I worked together for a short time with Metro Forestry. He was pleasure to be around .I think of him often though I had not seen him for years..

Jim and Shelley have been dear friends of ours for many years. Jim had an amazing sense of humour and we enjoyed many an hour listening to all the stories he had to tell. Jim also had a good heart. He was always willing to offer a helping hand. You were a good man, Jim. A dear friend and loving husband. We send our deepest sympathies to Shelley and our thoughts and prayers are with her.

I was saddened to hear of Jim's passing.  Our last couple years at our cottage were filled with fun times and I loved stopping by seeing Jim on my daily walks and hearing any one of his stories of his life adventures. He was so generous and genuine, funny and tough. He loved his cottage and spending time connecting with wildlife.  It was hard to see him in pain but still doing the things he loved to do.  My best wishes to Shelley and Blue and may Jim rest in peace.
