Hello June:
Just happened to view the obituary for Jim Dyer.  Both of you I knew from St. Clement's Eglinton.  In any case, I am very sorry to hear about Jim's passing.  Just the other day last week I thought of you who directed me to participate in making a video with another person when my mother was suffering from Altzheimer's (dementia).   My sincere sympathy to you.  I now live in Colborne, ON and am married.  Take care.  Clare Phillips

The few times I watched hockey at the Stouffville arena were thanks to Jim. He made you feel welcome to spend time together. Jim was a warm and big-hearted fellow who will be missed by anyone who knew him. Rest in peace, Jim.

Dear June- a short note to send you my love and sympathy at this difficult time.  It is such a  long time since  I  have seen you or Jim-how fast the years roll by. What I do remember is your beloved mum.  I believe she taught me Sunday school and you  and Jim were part of all that .I hope you are well. You will be in my thoughts and prayers in the days ahead. Jim was the youngest of three siblings, but we had a very close relationship from an early age.  I’ve always been diminutive in stature (4 ft.10.75 in) but he stilled called me his ‘big sister’.  I cannot remember a time when we were not there for one another.

Jim had a big heart and loved people and as a result was greatly loved in return.  He was continuously in a state of readiness; prepared to answer a call for help at any time of the day or night.  June and his family were the great love of his life and as the family grew his love expanded even more.  His nephews and great-nephews adored him as there was only one ‘Uncle Duke’.

I can hardly believe my brother is no longer here but am comforted in knowing that I will see him again when I am called home.

Our sincere sympathy for the loss of Mr. Dyer.  He was a great man.

Alex and I were so heart broken to hear of Mr. Dyer’s passing. Even as I write this, I can hear him telling me to stop calling him Mr. Dyer with a big smile on his face. He always treated Alex and I like close family, and we appreciated that so much. He truly was an incredible man. His passing will be difficult to overcome. Sending Mrs. Dyer and the family prayers and strength as they navigate their grief. We love you.

Sincere condolences from Arthur, Vivian, Thomas, and Ben. Uncle Duke (aka Uncle Jim) was very special to all of us. Lots of great times together for me as a child and young person and later for our entire family. We may have lived far away from each other for many years, but Uncle Duke was always ‘there’. 
One of my fondest memories was Uncle Duke taking me to my first Major League Baseball game in Montreal (1969), igniting  a lifelong love for the game and especially for the Expos. Uncle Duke may have unwisely chosen to support the Toronto Blue Jays, but that allowed us to poke fun at each other as our teams experienced ups and downs.
We still can’t quite grasp that he’s gone. He will be sorely missed.

Jim and June were such wonderful members of The Church of the Incarnation. They were so much fun to be with and I think Jim was the biggest teaser ever but he also gave great shoulder rubs.
