Ivan Wilson

April 9, 1922 – October 20, 2010

Ivan Wilson, age 88, suddenly passed away from pneumonia on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at North York General Hospital, after a long illness. Beloved husband of Marlene for 48 years, loving father of Barry, Debbie, Donna, Ivan and Vernon, grandfather and great-grandfather. Much loved uncle of Marvin, Judy, Jeffrey, Carol, Roberta and Billy. Ivan was an RCAF veteran, former employee of the Toronto Star and retired graphic artist, with CFTO. He was a caring, kind and compassionate man with a warm charm, wit and wry sense of humour which endeared him to friends, family, and neighbours. His passions were caricatures, news, a good read, jazz, good conversation, good food and Mar. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Jerrett Funeral Home (6191 Yonge Street, North York, ON M2M 4K4) with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, friends may donate to listener supported radio station Jazz.FM.91, North York Harvest Food Bank or the Salvation Army.
