We have many happy memories of Ida and Sandy’s visits to Britain including taking them on holiday to the Lake District. This picture is one of a few from that holiday. 

We all felt blessed to have Ida become a member of our family when she married  Sandy (Alex) my younger brother. She enriched our lives and although we live in England, we loved seeing her and Sandy when they came to stay with us. We’ve also had some of our  loveliest holidays in Canada with Ida and her family. 

I (Ruth) especially remember being asked to  be a bridesmaid in my 60s at Sandy and Ida’s wedding. My big problem was what to wear. I eventually found a navy suit and then, lo and behold, I arrive at the wedding to find Ida’s sister was wearing a very similar navy outfit! I new at that point we all had lots in common. 

Ida, all the many Kent’s in England will miss you, but we are pleased to know  that you and Sandy (Alex) are reunited. 

All our love and thoughts go to Ida’s family at this sad time.

Kirk and Sue, condolences in Ida's passing. Remember her fondly from the days at IBF. Ida to me was a warm. friendly and inviting person. Thankful for having known her, however brief the relationship was.
My the peace and comfort of God, our Lord, be with you and the family at this difficult time.

Ida was such a dear friend. She blessed my life  in so many ways.  I will miss sharing her faith, wisdom, joy, and humour.   And Ida made the best chocolate chip cookies in the whole world.
We often prayed together and for each other. We both believed in
angels watching over  us. An angel came and took Ida to heaven on Saturday.
When I think of Ida I see her singing  in the choir at St. Edward’s .
She had a such a sweet voice.  Ida always waved to me, my mother and my sister.  We sat in a pew near the choir  which we loved hearing.
One time though, Ida rolled her eyes at us.  The guest priest had a  very long and boring homily.  My mother said  “Is he going to stop talking” Ida heard it.  She suppressed a laugh.  So did my sister and I.


Ida was a light unto the world. Her presence in our day to day lives will be missed; but she will continue to be present in our hearts, always. I have made a donation to the Salvation Army Thanksgiving Dinner fund to honour Ida’s nourishing and giving heart.  May her memory be for a blessing.

I have two favorite memories of Ida.
The first is her pot roast...yum.  She recently shared the secret to the recipe with me.
The second favorite memory occured some years ago during a hospital visit that she and I made to the bedside of Joe Cauchi. Joe was one of the custodians at St. Edwards and very ill. Ida and I were in prayer when we heard one of the nurses on duty remark on how the paients were settled for the night, the floor over all was quiet but there "two holy rollers" at Joe's bedside.  I was taken aback, however, Ida, in her easy way, shrugged her shoulders, winked and gave me that assured "just keep going" look.
