He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Gina. Beloved father of the late Enio (Angela) and proud nonno of Laura (Stefan) and Paul. Dear brother-in-law to Antonio DeAcetis, Alterino DeAcetis and Maria D'Amico. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends. A very special thank you is extended to the compassionate and caring staff at Villa Colombo.
Giovanni was proud to be Italian Canadian and very grateful for the many opportunities that Canada offered to him and his family. Giovanni will always be remembered for his strong work ethic and passion for his garden, which brought him great pride and joy. He was a generous man, who loved to help people and share the fruits of his labour. He and his loving wife, Gina, especially enjoyed socializing with family and friends alike. He will be dearly loved and missed. Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day, Unseen Unheard but always near, Still loved still missed and very dear.
Guests will be received at Delmoro Funeral Home, 61 Beverly Hills Dr. (1light south of Wilson Ave, west of Jane St.) on Friday, July 26, 2019 from 2-4pm and 6-9pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at St. Philip Neri Roman Catholic Church, 2100 Jane St. (1 light south of Wilson Ave). Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 8361 Yonge St. if so desired, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society in lieu of flowers.
