Gerry O'Neill

1925-2017

Gerry passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at Sunnybrook Health Sciences on July 4, 2017. Predeceased by his wife of 65 years Adelaide (nee Bois), and sisters Marguerite (Frank Methuen), Betty (Robert Waddell), Teresa (Gordon McKinnon), and Sheila (Stanley Hadley). He is survived by daughter Catherine (Michael Hunter), son John, and granddaughters Jennifer and Kate. Gerry was born in Drumheller, Alberta, served in the Royal Canadian Air Force before graduating in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alberta in 1948. He joined Imperial Oil working all over Canada for 37 years. Upon retirement, he spent time volunteering for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, North York Symphony, Meals on Wheels, and enjoyed travelling, golf, bridge, and poker. Friends may call at the Trull “North Toronto” Funeral Home, 2704 Yonge St, (5 blocks south of Lawrence Ave.) on Tuesday July 11, from 2-4 or 6-8 pm, and the Funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church, (Yonge St. south of Lawrence) on Wednesday July 12, 2017 at 11 am. If desired in memoriam donations may be made to either the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario or to the Alzheimer’s Society of Toronto.
