Dear Colin, Cameron, Carol, Steve, Mr. & Mrs. Veinot and Mr. & Mrs. Thomson,

It is with much love, pain, sorrow and endearing friendship that I write my fond memories of a true friend, Freddie. As you know, Freddie was Pete's University of Waterloo's roommate, Applied Math classmate & best-friend for many years until marriage to Carol.
Freddie & Pete seemed inseparable as I dated Pete at UofW. We were known as "Pete, Tysh & Freddie" by our university friends. We were connected by our good-times in our 20's, love of music, hockey & our search of inspiration/meaning @ university for our futures. We were three best buddies.
Freddie was full of energy, full of spirit, ideas, silliness, much humor & a whole lot of fun! When he was excited about something, he had a big, funny smile. Freddie & Pete competed academically at school; both always getting stellar A's in their math-eng courses. I have many stories, all happy times ... many fond memories.
One of Freddie's happiest moments in his life was when he married Carol. He was so in love & she was so perfect for him; we were thrilled! I know Freddie loved his boys dearly too; these were other happiest moments in his life. 
Pete & I are honored to have shared our lives with Freddie. He will be deeply missed by many. My sincerest, heart-felt sympathy to the whole family. Much love always, Tysh

Sorry to hear of Fred'S passing.

Your Dad was a terrific guy!  He will be missed by many and remembered well. The times I remember Fred were always fun, interesting and centred with you.  There was the 'Masters', the guitar, the pool, his hockey, hockey in general, good gatherings, great business discussions, mooning the moon on New Years Eve with the sound of a trumpet and perfect timing....."So everyone, let's go to New York NY - NOW".  Well of course we never did but everyone one of us wanted to!

I worked with Fred at Crowntek.  I had not seen him in many years, but the news of his death was quite shocking and sad.  Sincere condolences.

During the past two years during which time we were able to interact and better know the Veinot family, it quickly became clear that Fred was a  honourable, highly intelligent, sensitive, caring and dedicated individual who truly loved his family and valued his friends. Fred clearly demonstrated pride and admiration for his children and did his best with Carole to raise them in a manner which we admire. We will miss him greatly.
