It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Francesca DeMarco (1936-2024) on September 1st, 2024 with her loving family by her side in her last moments of life. We grieve her loss with much heartbreak. Francesca was the loving Wife of Stefano DeMarco, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Sister. She was blessed and loved by her immediate family Caterina (Pasquale), predeceased son Giovanni, Sarina (John predeceased), Frank (Victoria). She adored her Grandchildren Marie-Ann (Frank), Elisa (Mike), Patrick (Romina), Stephanie (Jeff), Joshua, Stephen and Sarah. She was the proud Great Grandmother of Vanessa, Alessa, Christos, Damian, Cassiopeia, Jacqueline, Samuel, Rafael and Piero. Her siblings Domenico (Rocchina), Carmela (Antonio) and predeceased brother Giuseppe, along with all her nieces, nephews and in-laws will greatly miss her.
Francesca was born in Gallico Marina, Reggio Calabria Italy. She married by Proxy and immigrated to Canada in 1954. Francesca was a strong woman on so many levels. She was not afraid to be who God created her to be. She was intelligent, kind and had a heart of gold with family, friends and the less fortunate. A selfless mother who fiercely loved her children. She always said they were her pride and joy throughout her life. Her friends affectionately describe her as having a great sense of humour that was so delightful to be around and just naturally made people feel so joyful, without even trying. Her energy was contagious and she charmed many people with her spunky personality. Francesca had many different passions she focused on including her strong faith/religion, delicious cooking, singing in several choirs with her gifted beautiful voice, the love for dance when she had the opportunity and cultivating her green thumb.
May a sense of peace be found, knowing that the memories held dear will continue to shape and inspire her loved ones, keeping Francesca’s spirit alive in the hearts and actions of family and friends alike. While her presence may be gone, her impact lives on in the kindness shown to others and the joy found the ordinary moments of life.
