Wife of Bernard Whitehead (deceased). Predeceased by her son Vincent Whitehead, and daughters-in-law Vickie Ohashi and Annie Dokter.
Mother of Gregory (Katherine), Peter (Vivienne), Melanie, and Paul (Victoria) Loving Grandmother of James, David, Jessica, Ellie, Sebastian, Nicholas, Michaela, Liesl, Julia and Charlotte. Great Grandmother to Tessa, Viv, Alison, Avery, Sofia, Zachary, Frederick, Colton, Marcus and Campbell.
Eunice was born in Port Elgin, New Brunswick on Oct. 18, 1924. Eunice passed away very peacefully at North York General Hospital on Thursday, November 16, 2023 surrounded by her family.
Daughter of Adolphe Comeau and Beatrice Leger. Predeceased by sisters Rita Webster, Eleanor Park, Ola Williams, and three infant sisters Ida, Maria and Marguerite-Marie. Sister of Albertine Comeau and Esther Fearon of New Brunswick. Eunice will be remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Eunice graduated from Port Elgin High School, was employed by N.B. Telephone until her enlistment in the R.C.A.F. In 1943. She served at headquarters in Ottawa for 3 years. On discharge she studied dressmaking and design in Moncton and Toronto. She married Barney in 1950 and settled in Toronto.
She was active in St. Margaret Parish, on several committees, Eucharistic minister, Lector, former choir member and past President of C.W.L. And seniors club. The “Coffee Girls” were special friends who met daily after mass.
Friends will be received at Kane- Jarrett Funeral Home, 6191 Yonge St. (South of Steeles) in Toronto. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 23 at 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
Funeral mass will be at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church, 222 Ridley Blvd. Toronto, Ont. M5M 3M6 on Friday, November 24 at 10:00 am, with reception immediately following in the Church hall.
Private committal service at Holy Cross Cemetery in Thornhill at 1:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Vincent De Paul, North York General Hospital or Baycrest Hospital.
