Dear Jeannine, Bruce, and Jay,

I have been reflecting on the younger days of my life, and the closeness the Flint brothers had with each other in their young years.
Donald was always there, encouraging the wonderful sibling communications between each of us, supporting and involved in the learning process of life for me, encouraging my curiosity of books,
leading to wanting to learn everything about the planet we call home.

In our teenage years I watched Don as he moved into the Canadian banking world, becoming a very integral part of the early processing of info by main frame computers, long before the compact computers we know today.
Don's introduction to the Pitt family and his future wife Beverly was very special, as they became very close partners entering into an unknown future, but so very fond and respective of each other,

Fast forward to a very happy life with 3 wonderful, sweet children, maturing into adults reflecting the caring for all that Mom and Dad, Don and Bev, ensured they were able to provide for their children's success in life.

Yes, memories of  family, a young family's life do not fade, always there to enhance ones own personal thoughts of the past.
For me, my brother Donald, will always be more than a memory.....


Sometimes, special people, like Don Flint, come into your life and make it newer, fresher, more complete and better in so many ways.  We all bask in the glory of his strong and gracious personality.

Now that he has left us, we can’t help reflecting on what he shared with us -- a gentle sense of humour, his strong convictions shaped by an even stronger intellect and an insatiable love of the special things in life that meant so much to him.

It was so like Don to request no fuss or ceremonies at this time, but at least we can share  our sense of loss and of gratitude for all that he meant to us and that he gave us throughout his life.

We are all better for having known him and celebrate a truly remarkable life.

Dear Jeannine, Jay & Bruce,

I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of your father. I know how difficult this time can be. Last week I was able to have a nice long chat with your Dad while he was in hospital. We talked about the past and the different times your Mom and Dad would go on camping trips with my family, or when I got my first Fairy Tale book from your Dad one Christmas when I was about 5 years old. (Still have the book). 

 The memory that stands out is about both your parents. I was invited to be Junior Bridesmaid at their wedding. This certainly made the dreams of an eight year old come true, long dress, flowers in the hair, and my  very first perm, and that walking down the aisle! What a special day that was!

I grew up being friends with his kids . We all hung out at his home many times they feed all of us and put up with all us kids and there was a lot of us never got upset with any of us just took all of us in as his own kids . I love him and his wife as my own parents highly respect both of them you will be greatly missed r.i.p Don
