I remember very clearly the day David came into this world.  

The four of us had gone out for dinner (Arline, João, Fernando and I).  We had an awesome time.  We shared a wonderful dinner, we shared stories and laughter and the guys shared more than their fair share  to drink that night when all was said and done.

I got a call from Arline later that night telling me that she was in labour.  Seeing as our guys were indisposed, it fell upon me to get her and João to the hospital for David’s birth.  

I was used to driving my dad’s Volkswagen and we had just purchased our Chevy Malibu and I had little to no practice driving this huge car (compared to the Volkswagen it felt like I was driving a boat).  

So I sucked it up, said multiple prayers and proceeded to drive the precious package (very slowly) to the hospital to await the birth of the first grandchild in our family.  He was our baby Jesus.  Everyone adored him.

I pray that David is resting peacefully in the loving embrace of his mother Arline who loved him with every fibre of her being … the ultimate mother/child reunion.

Memories that'll last a life time!!
 Rest in peace my brother. Known each other over 40 years. Every time we got together it was like we never missed a beat. From childhood friendship to partners in drywall and to a bond of brotherhood you'll always be remembered by me and many others. My condolences to the Verissimo family, family and close friends. My thoughts and prayers are with all you guys. Dave..... keep em cold up there, until we meet again, Rock n roll buddy!!! Fly high, fly free!!!

I was so saddened to hear of Dave’s passing.   I miss those close to Christmas or end of year lunches we used to have at the Brass Taps on College street which had been a ritual for a few years.  We had some of the most interesting talks over pizza.  Although, a lot of those talks were cracking jokes and having a laugh over some of the silliest things, some of those conversations, which I really remember fondly, were those we had on the big questions like God, and the structure of the Universe that were sparked by a book that I had bought by Stephen Hawking, and that I had brought to the Brass Taps once.   Even though Theoretical Physics was far beyond our scope, it didn’t stop Dave and I, just mere laymen, from contemplating about the overarching themes and ideas of the Cosmos.   Dave may you rest in peace

Dave was a big part of my life during my high-school and college years. I haven’t heard from him in 20+ years but still my heart hurts to hear this. My memories are now shrouded with sadness of his passing. My condolences go out to his family.

Rest in peace Dave 🙏  missed you the last few years .. the Christmas parties just weren't the same without you. I remember learning how to play chess from you at a young age and ill never forget the great loving person you were.

My Condolences to the Verissimo Family.
Dave was such a huge part of my childhood and was my Big cousin that came to live with us years ago in Vancouver.
I’m 8yrs younger than Dave and he taught me how to enjoy life and actually listen out for the “good music” before it was on the radio.
Dave taught me how to dress like a 90’s kid and gave me his hand me down clothing.
I eventually was given his famous Puma Jacket and a pair of Khakis. 
Dave taught me how to drive in his old Blue Renault, how to wire speakers for a stereo we built together for my bedroom.
Dave introduced me to new and old movies and even how to play Chess.
I have a weird sense of Humour and find that only few understand it, Dave was one of them.
Dave loved to tell a joke and make people laugh, even if he forgot that he told you the joke already.
I’m going to miss you Big Cousin  and I will never forget our conversations with each other and the impact that you made on my life.
