11.18.1948 - 5.17.2016
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of, recently retired, Air Canada Executive, David Brown.
He was surrounded by his beloved partner of 21 years, Ragulan (Ragu) Rahadurai, and very dear friends.
David was born in Perth, Western Australia. His longtime career in the airline industry started with QANTAS in Australia.
He then moved to London, England, to join British Airways, (BOAC). After several years in the UK, David was offered a position in
Vancouver, B.C.. After which, he settled in his adopted hometown of Toronto, and joined Air Canada in 1988.
David was an accomplished pianist at a very early age. However, he found his calling with the airline industry and traveled to
all corners of the globe. He met and worked with many people who enjoyed his rare wit, cutting humour, and sharp tongue. But what they
experienced most was his charm, generous spirit, and his heart of gold. He had a way of making you feel that you were more than you had believed yourself to be.
David leaves behind his beloved partner of 21 years, Ragu. His sister, Diana Drummond,(Malcolm), of Perth Australia, His nephews, Stephen, Andrew, and Michael of Sydney Australia. As well as, numerous friends scattered around the world. He will be sadly missed by all his colleagues at Air Canada, and by his adopted family in Toronto, especially his dear friend of over thirty years, Thom Brooks.
A special thank you to all the staff, doctors, and nurses of St. Michael's TNICU, for their kindness, compassion, and care during David's time of need
As per David's wishes, a private cremation has been held. .
Donations may be made to St. Michael's Hospital, or Casey House.
