The Bekiaris family were long-time neighbours growing up across the street from us for many decades. 

Some of us still have flowers growing in our gardens (black-eyed Susans and fall blooming pink flowers) from the Bekiaris gardens. 

Your grandparents/parents often shared delicious breads and desserts with us.

When the kids were young, Chris brought them to our street for Hallowe’en. It may not surprise you to hear that Chris liked to stop to talk and catch up while  the kids were interested in getting to more houses. 

We hope your many memories of happy times will bring you much comfort when you think of your father/brother.

I am so sorry to hear about Chris’ passing (“Bek” in our little group of close high school friends).  He was a good friend at Sir J.A. MacDonald High School and at the University of Toronto.  He was kind, friendly, and generous; an amazing ice-hockey player who could stick handle through an entire team and score goals with ease; and one of the smartest persons I’ve ever met.  I have good memories of ball hockey games on the side streets of Bridlewood and behind Bridlewood P.S., ice-hockey games at bone-chilling outdoor rinks, fun and friendly (and intense) games of Diplomacy and card games in friends’ rec rooms, at the school cafeteria, and at university.

My sincere condolences and sympathies to the family members during this difficult time.

Very sad to see this news. We were neighbours for many years, until I left for university.  We were the best of friends.

I remember Chris from our days at Sir John A. Macdonald, always smiling. When we played hockey on the frozen outdoor rinks, he would literally skate through everybody and score at will. I remember the games of Diplomacy we would play for hours.  He always had your back and I remember working with him UofT in the Computer Science class. He worked hard and played hard.

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Chris.  I have good memories of  going to the family restaurant. As a teenager all the guys in our group got together and I was always mesmerized by “Bek’s  ball hockey skills.      Later, as married couples, we got together in the early days and always enjoyed spending time with both your parents.

It is with a heavy heart that I hear the news of the passing of my dear Uncle Chris. Always a kind, caring and giving man and one having a remarkable and benevolent soul. Bog da prosti. Your ascent to heaven will relieve you of your physical pain in this physical world and reunites you with your beloved wife also in the presence of the Lord. The heaven's brighter as a result, though the earthly bulb has dimmed. 

My condolences and sympathies to the family members during this difficult time. To each, have solace knowing this is not the end, but a new beginning for my Uncle Chris as he ascends in the company of angels when finding those family members that passed before him.  

So sad of the loss of my cousin Chris I will forever remember his contagious smile and always greeting me at the Boulevard Cheeseburger fries and a coke coming Lou.
