

Catherine was predeceased by her children Byron Rodney (Nov 2021) and Rose-Marie Rodney (April 2022) She is survived by her son Lloyd Cummings. Loving sister to Olive(deceased), Murdena and George. She was a cherished grandmother of Marlon and Euan Murray, Houghton, Anique, Angel and Celine Cummings and Oniel, Shane, Byron Jayden and Isaiah Rodney. Loving great-grandmother to Marcus, Marielle, Amara, Kaleb, Kayana, Orando, Malachi, Tia, Oshane, Ashane, Renicya, Avery, Aria, Lynique, Anaya and Khaison.
She will be dearly missed by her nieces, nephews and their families as well as the many friends & extended relatives whose heart she touched in Canada and across the world in the US, UK and Jamaica.
Catherine was affectionately known as Ms Ket, by her friends and family. She was born in St Thomas Jamaica and immigrated to Canada in 1975. She worked hard to bring her children to Canada for a better life.
She worked for many years at the University of Toronto cafeteria and enjoyed the students, they kept young. She was very active in her church, Cornerstone Baptist Tabernacle Church. She was a relatable person, one whom you can always count on for a lively conversation and a healthy laugh. She was an attentive listener and would often encourages you to continue do good because there is a light at the end of the tunnel. She loves tennis and will give up her night’s rest to enjoy the game.
Visitation will be held at the Jerrett Funeral Home, 1141 St. Clair Ave W., on Friday, May 2, 2025 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. Funeral Service will be held at Cornerstone Baptist Tabernacle Church, 21 Blackthorne Ave., on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 11 am. Interment to follow at Pine Ridge Memorial Gardens, 1757 Church St. N., Ajax.
There will be livestream access available for those not able to travel for the funeral.
