After a long and brave battle with ovarian cancer, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carol on Monday May 27th 2013. She is survived by her mother, Ruth Mulholland, and siblings Lynn Rooney (Ken), Sharon Kelk (Geoff), Jill Mulholland, Bill Mulholland and Leta Brown (Karl). Carol was a wonderful and generous aunt who adored her 10 nieces and nephews and will be missed by all; Linda, Adam, Stephen (Falon), Jennifer, Megan, Sam Ben, Hunter, Katie and Nicholas.
Carol was a kind and gentle soul, born in Toronto to William and Ruth in 1949. She grew up in a lively household with her 5 siblings. She graduated from York Mills Collegiate and then attended the University of Guelph. Carol pursued her life’s passion of being a school teacher. She taught elementary school in the Peel Board for 37 years. She touched the lives of many students and colleagues. She lived to teach and was very distraught when illness forced her to leave the classroom. Carol was an avid participant in many activities from volunteering with the Junior League, to theatre and travel with friends and supporting her nieces and nephews at numerous sporting events, recitals and concerts. A celebration of Carol’s life will be held on Wednesday June 5th at 1pm at St. John's York Mills Anglican Church. 19 Don Ridge Drive, Toronto. A reception will follow the service in the Garnsworthy room. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Junior League Association of Toronto. jlt.org “Ever has it been that love knows not its own depth until the hour of separation"
