I didn't knew her but I'm sure she was a very loved mother because all these loving photos just show how precious she was for the family and it touches our heart. RIP.

You demonstrated so much to us growing up. Your hard-working ways, love for us, ever-giving attitude, humour, and strength will be a constant reminder of the amazing Nonna you were to us. The way you always lit up whenever we were around always made us feel special and no doubt has rubbed off on us. 
Please rest now Nonna, 93 years of life certainly deserves it. I will miss you dearly and know that many of my happy life memories have you in them. XOXO, Elina, Nick, and baby Tyler

Nonna,

It breaks my heart to know that you are no longer with us. You put up a good fight and I was so honoured that you held out for the wedding. There is no greater memory than the one of your reaction to seeing me in my wedding dress. 

I have so many amazing memories with you, and even though there was a language barrier between the two of us, your actions and love always spoke much louder than any voice ever could. 

You always put others first and are the most selfless person I have ever met. I remember telling you I liked your shirt or necklace and your immediate response was "You want it?" You were always so willing to give to others and this is something I have inherited from you. 

When I was young you often took care of me ensuring I ate everything on my plate - "mangia, mangia, mangia." As you got older and spent your last few months in the nursing home I took pride in helping to care for you and visit you weekly. I will miss the nursing home and coming to sit with you. I will forever drive by Island Rd and want to turn and visit you. 

You took such pride in your grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I remember you beaming whenever you heard of a new pregnancy in the family. Your eyes would light up whenever you saw Ethan, Jacob or Tyler and although you are no longer here I know that you will watch over us all. 

Thank you for always loving me, showering me with kisses and holding my hand in the end to let me know you were still there. I pray that you are at peace and have been welcomed into Heaven.

Dear Nonna, I miss you dearly but I know that you are now in a better place. I will miss your warm smile, hugs and kisses. I remember how hard working you always were & how there was no job too challenging for you. Every time we would visit you, I loved seeing all your beautiful flowers. Dear mom, you are done with your suffering.  This morning at 10:00 am you went to heaven to join your mom, dad, husband, sisters, and brothers.  I will miss you for ever.

Mom----me again.  I can't remember when I was held after my birth, as a newborn, an infant or a toddler.  What I do remember is the cupping of my small hands in yours, taking me to and from school and anywhere we went---your loving hands holding mine, and knowing I was safe from all.  There was a time where my hand in yours was "not cool" and then I grew up and felt I did not need to have my hand held anymore.  You were always close at hand.  Your hands never stopped, whether at work or home, sewing, cooking or tending to whatever task you needed to complete.  As age advanced upon you, arthritis in your hands, fingers and joints made some tasks harder to accomplish.  I remember you dipping your hands in warm/hot paraffin to help ease the pain and swelling.  So many times I wanted to hold your loving hands and on some occasions did. I told you how hard your hands worked and you just shrugged it off.  I saw how lovingly you held your grand children, one by one  and no chore was ever too big for you to care for one or two  or more..  Your dedication to the young ones was true unconditional love.  I saw your hands cupping theirs one by one----flash backs--of memories, of long ago would come flooding in.  Charlie, Vince, and I could see as you got older, and more frail, that the circle of love was being passed from you to us.
Humble, I have felt in taking your loving hands in mine, and holding them for short or long periods of time. I knew the love that flowed back and forth was sincere.
So as you laid in bed, I would stare at you in wonder.  I held your hands each in mine. I cherished and kissed them.
I knew that the love you gave us was pure and fully surrounded us.  I cupped your loving hands in mine as you waited for my hands to grasp yours and held them tight.  You were afraid, not knowing what awaited you.  I kept reassuring you that no harm would come to you when I was with you.  Your eyes would seek and at times appeared so distant.  The only comfort that I could provide for you was to hold you lovingly as you once held me.  I would wipe away my tears to watch you, when you would close yours eyes.
Child-like you became and I took your loving hands in mine and told you that I loved you and would stay by your side.  We prayed for you mom, as you did for us, and I will and do the same for my children. Our prayers went out to you, loving mom, to not suffer, be at peace, and to meet the Holy Father.
Mom----you've left a void, and shoes behind. You have left us aching, and we know that trying to fill your shoes will be a difficult task, one that we can only pray and dream about.  
Rest in peace cara mamma.  Ti voglio bene oggi e per sempre.  As you would always say to us----Dio ti benedica.  Rosalinda

Hello Mom, it has only been a day since you have left us, I remember 9:45 a.m. and I am reflecting on you.  Mom you don't need to worry for us anymore, because you are in gods hands.  I am happy that I was with you in your last moments. I recall that not too long ago you telling me that you felt like a baby because we were caring for you; I them responded "mom do you remember when we were kids you would tell  us don't worry I am here for you and will always  protect you.  Now mom the tables have turned and we are now caring for you and you are our baby". You have been a good mom to us and made us strong, hard working and caring people.  I will never forget your hard working hands that stopped at nothing, from sewing to construction.  Mom one night Roselinda and myself asked you; are you scared? and you nodded yes; then we hugged you and told you we would not leave you alone, and would pray for you. Mom you will always be in my heart, as I think of you I am crying I was selfish in not letting you go and keeping you as long as I could until God decided to relieve you of your pain and take you.  So now my comfort is that you have become an angel for us and will look over us.  You have been a great mentor to your grandchildren. Today you left us to find your place in heaven, your suffering is over and now you are at peace.  You were a loving mom, nonna and and great nonna,  your family was number one to you always.  We will always remember you with all the memories you have left us with.  Your fight for living was unbelievable you have taught us much about hard work, family and faith.  You will be missed by all and you will live on through your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mom, as I have said over and over again, I miss you already, so much.  You showed us what strength, devotion and love is.  I know you are in a better place and at peace.
