Carlo Sparano was born on May 16, 1929 in Altomonte, Cosenza, Calabria, Italy. He passed away suddenly and peacefully on November 8, 2023, after having played one final card game with his adored caregiver Emma.
Carlo leaves behind his loving wife Angela (Angiolina) of 62 years.
Cherished and admired by his children GianCarlo, Franca Pina (Frank), Ornella (Anthony) and Enza (Frank).
Proud and loving Nonno to John-Luc, Jack, Charlotte, Hannah, Oscar and Theodore.
Carlo is survived by his sister Mafalda and brother Littorio. Predeceased by his siblings, Francesco, Caterina, Peppino, Lilla and Franchino.
Carlo will be held dear in the hearts and greatly missed by his brother in law’s, sister in law’s nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Carlo (Carlino) left his adored “Capraio” and worked hard to establish a good life for his family in Canada. He was a trained chef and loved to cook food for everyone and mostly his grandchildren. His Thanksgiving stuffing is a family favourite. Carlo loved to sing and dance, and was always the life of the party. He was sharp until the end and an amazing story teller.
He was larger than life, an inspiration to everyone and his memory will be cherished in our hearts forever. RIP
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023 from 2-4 & 6-8:30 pm at the Jerrett Funeral Home- St. Clair Chapel, Toronto. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:30 am from St. Clare Church (1118 St. Clair Ave. W., across from the funeral home). On the morning of the mass, please make your way directly to church arriving 15 minutes early, to allow the family a private moment before the mass. Entombment to follow at Parklawn Cemetery (2845 Bloor St. W., at Prince Edward Dr., Etobicoke).
