Oh, Billie Mae, you changed my life.  Thank you for everything.  I will always remember you.

My favourite personal Billie moment was just a few weeks ago when we all sat on our deck together. I took one of the large quartz crystals from the black metal platter that I keep on the glass table out there. I laid it in Billie's hand and closed her fingers around it, saying: "This will help you meditate." She looked at me and struggled out the words, "I can't do that now" to which John and I replied together:  "Oh I think you can -- and you still do on some level". Her eyes filled with tears but her mouth was smiling. As she was leaving the house, being wheeled out backwards by John through the front door, she caught my eye and waived her hand, with the crystal still enclosed in it! I knew Billie was saying "the long goodbye" that day, and that she had given me one final, precious memory.

Thanks for sharing your Mom with so many people for so many years. My world was a better place because of her and her talents. But I'm sure she was just Mom to her family, and will be sorely missed, and lovingly remembered. Your family is in my prayers.

Baba was an inspiration as a woman. Even far away, she had a undeniable affect on my life and I talk about her with my children. She will be missed and remembered for generations.

My deepest sympathies to the family.  Billie was a sweet, wonderful woman, and I am honoured to have known her.

One of my earliest memories of childhood was the almost frenzied excitement my siblings and I felt every Christmas when "Rudolph" was scheduled to air. We were terrified by the Abominable Snowman and heartbroken by Rudolph's sense of alienation from his family and friends -- and the joy we felt at the end, when Rudolph would appear with Sanda, on the Island of Misfit Toys, to save Christmas... wow! Heady stuff for a four-year old. Years later I introduced our daughter to Rudolph, and in spite of living in a much more hi-tech age, she loved (and still loves) Rudolph as much as I did/do, and we still watch it every year. Rudolph's distinctive voice (with and without the plug over his nose) made the programme! I'm very sorry to hear of Billie Mae's death -- but thanks to the wonders of television, her gift will continue to enthrall hundreds of thousands of people, at "the most wonderful day of the year".
