It is with great sadness, the family of Bernice Harris (nee Bradley) shares news of the passing of their loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and Auntie Mom. After many health issues over the last 15 months, she continued to be joyful, grateful, smiling often with her love of family & others, her spirit and faith were strong. Bernice passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Ina Grafton Gage home in Scarborough. God’s loving presence was evident throughout her time at Ina Grafton until the end.
Bernice was born in Toronto and was proud to be 4th generation in The Salvation Army. Bernice & her husband Matthew Harris (deceased) were Salvation Army Officers for many years before their final appointment in London, Ontario where Bernice joined the Canadian Bible Society. Bernice transferred to the Canadian Bible Society in Toronto where she retired as a bookkeeper.
Bernice passed peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, November 7 at Ina Grafton in her room, surrounded by family pictures on the walls that she talked openly with family, visitors, and staff daily.
Bernice was predeceased by her husband Matthew (2010) and is survived by her four children, Heather Fink, Denise (Donald) Halsey, Bradley (Lisa) Harris, and Melody (Michael) Masuda, 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Bernice will be remembered as a loving mother who was devoted to her family and loved every moment she spent with them, was an active participate in her church and will be remembered for her smile, her love of Gaither music singing and her joy when spending time with others.
We rejoice that Bernice has been set free from her earthly body and now dwells in the presence of her Lord and Saviour, enjoying a reunion with so many loved family & friends who have gone on before.
Until we meet again.
