With heavy hearts, we wish to share the passing of Arthur Cook.
Art lived a long, full and beautiful life, passing at the age of 97 on Monday, October 28 at the Chartwell Trilogy Long Term Care Residence in Scarborough.
Art was born in Nova Scotia, and spent a portion of his life serving in the Navy. He eventually moved to Ontario where he met June Bowie. Art and June were married for 41 years before her passing in 2000. Art’s love for June never diminished, and he spoke of her often. We all strive for an unwavering love such as theirs.
Art was an intellectual who loved to learn and read about history. Conversations would always lead to historical lessons, and his passion in the subject would always draw you in.
For a time, Art held a great interest for the theatre and arts. It was a very important and memorable part of his life. We as his family will always be grateful for the actors and actresses who extended their kindness to Art and made him feel like he belonged.
In his honour, and if you are able, we kindly ask that you consider making a donation to the SickKids Foundation. Art felt very strongly about helping children in need, and donated to SickKids frequently. This would be a beautiful way to carry on his legacy.
Art - one of the most caring, generous, independent and intelligent humans we knew. Art will be greatly missed. Gone but never forgotten. ❤️
