I had the privilege to have Andrea as a cataloguing instructor at UofT's ischool a few years ago. She was able to bring a passion to subject that isn't always interesting, and always took the time to explain concepts that I did not understand. She was patient and also kind and taught with grace. My condolences to Andrea's family and friends.

I am so very sorry to hear this.  I worked with Andrea at the ROM before we had children and she was my neighbour and friend while our youngest ones were small.  We moved and lost touch but always intended to get together again eventually.  What a loss to all - Andy was one of the sweetest, nicest people I knew.

I worked with Andrea at Carswell in the early '90s. She was a creative, intelligent and warm person. Everyone she worked with liked her. I was going through a hard time, and I remember her being especially kind to me. Her kindness was a ray of sunshine in my darkness. Thank you, Andrea.

Andrea. You were a most remarkable person; able to balance so many activities and responsibilities - children, library work, doctoral dissertation, a very large dog - with amazing calmness, humour and patience. I was so, so sad to hear of Andrea's passing. Andrea worked with me at the Northern District Branch of the Toronto Public Library a number of years ago. The one word that I would use to describe her is "gracious". When she came to my branch I did not realize that she had not been trained in the use of our new online catalogue. She just jumped right in, taught herself and continued to serve our patrons in her usual calm and friendly manner. When I apologized several months later for failing to make sure she had the training she needed, she graciously told me, with a smile, that she was managing just fine. I always admired Andrea for her ability to balance her work life, her family and her studies, remaining positive and cheerful no matter the challenges she faced. My deepest sympathy to Andrea's family and friends.

I will so miss Andrea's smile and sunny personality. Working with her with Fr.selection, her love of Can./Fr. literature shone through. My condolences to her children & whole family. David M.
