Marcie, I am shocked and saddened to learn of your terrible loss. It comes as no surprise that the sweet little boy I met years ago became such a fine young man, highly regarded by so many. My thoughts are with you and your family at this time of unthinkable sorrow. 


My deepest condolences go out to the close family and friends of Adam’s. Adam and I had met for the first time this past August. He was an absolute joy in my life, very courteous and caring towards others.  I am broken to say the least about the news tonight as Adam was probably one of the most important people I was looking forward to seeing moving to Toronto in the upcoming week. He was and always will be a very good friend to me. I will miss our spontaneous long distance phone calls we had together and hearing his voice, telling him how much I was looking forward to seeing him. Rest in absolute paradise Adam. 

Adam was a favourite of the AGO Thursday afternoon Information Guides.  We exchanged light banter and enjoyed an easy camaraderie.  He was a trend setter, stylish and smart and we teased him about his latest hair style and earing.  Coffee at the Gallerie Italia will not be the same without Adam.  We will miss him dearly.  Our condolences to his family.

Adam was precious to me.  Not only did I have the privilege of being his professor, but also his friend. We spent many evenings at my house drinking wine and eating-and just laughing about life. He was like a son to me and I am heartbroken to know he is no longer here with us. He had a great spirit and I will miss his sweet smile. 

Hearing this news is so devastating. I wanted to send along my deepest condolences. I first met with Adam when he wanted to join Ryerson Interior Design. He then ended up being my student once he joined the school. I always enjoyed my time chatting with him as a student and after when our paths would cross, either bumping into each other on the street, or seeing him at the AGO.  Once again, my deepest condolences to you and your family.

To adam’s loved ones; I am so sorry for your loss. I have only just found out of his passing, and wish you all my deepest condolences. 

I met Adam at Ryerson University’s School of Interior Design where we both attended, and saw him frequently at the AGO where I used to make monthly Moore sculpture stop ins. We always had great conversation, he was an absolute joy to be around, and despite not seeing him in recent years, his passing feels like a sore loss and absence to me. 

Adam, I hope you, and all those people I and others have lost too soon, are in a beautiful place basking in sunlight. You’re in my prayers. RIP 

Dear Marcie

Rob Ella and I were deeply sadden to hear this news. Please know that we are thinking of you at this difficult time. 

Adam was such a bright light - we always shared a giggle and a moment of levity upon crossing paths at the AGO.  And, I loved running into him in and around Parkdale.  My heart goes out to Adam’s family, to his friends and to his colleagues - what a profound loss.

Adam was my manager in Membership when I first started working at the AGO in 2008 and I was brand new to the city. I will remember Adam's smile and giggle (so cheeky and bubbly), his creativity and love of design (I remember how much thought he put into which cutlery set he wanted for his perfect place setting!), and of course a staff party where we did a group costume as Adam, Eve, and the Garden of Eden (we won the contest!) Lots of happy times working together. Marcie, I'll be thinking of you, and I hope you continue to be surrounded by the support of all of those whose lives were impacted in some way by Adam.

Dearest Marcie - When I became a single mom years after I first met and worked with you  (and then toddler Adam) at the AGO, you were my model of how I wanted to be.  Your love and care of Adam taught me how it could be done.Seeing the photos now of how incredible a young man he turned out to be - and so handsome - and loving - allows me to share in the pride you have in him and his life - the tributes say so much - I am so deeply sorry for your immeasurable loss. Sending love.

Adam loved to engage with all people and did so with charm and even a bit of cheeky swagger. It’s been so difficult to imagine that I won’t get to have more good times with Adam and to hear his joyful, infectious laugh. Adam was always fully present, engaging and thoughtful, often argumentative, but never in a hurtful way. Like all of us, he was trying to find his place in the world and needed to express and try out his ideas. I will really miss our talks about life, design, art and of course food! I’m quite sure that I will never know anyone as passionate about bacon and smoky flavours! We experienced so many beautiful things together and it makes me very sad that I won’t get to witness and be a part of Adam’s unfolding life, but at the same time, through all the sadness and pain, I feel so very privileged and so happy to have known him over the past eight years. Moments were always special with Adam. I admire who he was, his uniqueness, his sharp aesthetic eye, his ability to let loose and have fun, his perseverance and above all, the love that he gave to me and to so many. I’m going to miss you dearly sweet Adam. The memories burn bright and I will carry them forward and cherish them always.


Dear Marcie, 
 Adam was almost exactly the same age as my oldest son and over the years  you and I shared many stories of our boys growing up.  You were always so proud of Adam and his accomplishments. Our boys both attended the "Take your kid to work day" at the AGO when they were in Grade 9 (as Adam reminded me when he started working at the AGO).  I had many short conversations with Adam in the cafe.  He was always friendly and funny - just a vibrant young man.  It was clear he loved you very much as he gave me updates on how you were doing.    
I can't imagine your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers today and in the days to come.      

Adam and I worked together at the AGO for several years. I remember how much he enjoyed treasure hunting in the AGO shop. He would show us his latest find and I would imagine how beautiful his home would be decorated. Because that what Adam did. He made the world a more beautiful place.  His expertise in hospitality and culinary skills at work made the AGO experience wonderful for thousands of people over the years. Adam could light up the room with his glowing personality. I'm so grateful for the time we shared together. My deepest condolences to Marcie and all of Adam's family and friends.

To Marcie and family  although I haven't been in your lives over the years I'm thinking of all of you at this time. I'm so sorry for your loss I couldn't bare losing one of my children. R.I.P Adam you will be missed

My condolences to you Marcie and all of Adam's family and friends.  I am so saddened to hear this news.
When I first came to the AGO, I met Marcie and we got to have many interactions and she talked about Adam all the time.  I remember we were sitting together at one of our holiday parties and she wanted to leave early to help Adam with a school project, he was around 17 and i urged her that he is fine and for her to stay but Adam was always her first priority.  She was always there for him as he was for her.
When Adam started at the gallery, we immediately became friendly and have had some great conversations over the years.  When I had a health scare, he always seeked me out to ask if I was doing ok.  He was a very caring person and always remembered all of our conversations.  He will be deeply missed.

There are no words to adequately describe how sorry I am to hear of your loss Marcie. As mothers, we adore our children and always want the best for them.  Adam was such a lovely soul who touched this world more than you’ll ever know!! How privileged we all were to know him! My heart goes out to you xo

Dear Marcie,

It is the most brutal pain to lose a child, particularly when it is unexpected.  I can only imagine how you are feeling as I know how precious Adam was to you.  You loved and cared for him from day one, and he was well cherished.  Your heart must be breaking.

While I have not seen Adam for many years, as we were overseas, I kept up on news of him, through his aunt Mary.  My memories of Adam when he was younger were of a happy, fun loving boy.  I understand he grew into a lovely young man.  What a tragedy.

I hope that you can find some solace in the wonderful memories you have of Adam.  May he rest in peace.

I remember you as a sweet little baby when Marcie bravely brought you home to Davisville on her own❤️
I remember you as a very shy little boy who visited us on Glencairn, toys and scooter fun.
I remember you as a fine , sensitive young man who joined us after Christmas .... passionate discussions of the Grange , our twin staircase , travel, food ...psychology and the human heart.

I share in the grief of Adam's family and friends and am sending   strength to all of you at such a sad time. Adam and I were longtime colleagues at the Gallery, though we never got the chance to work together. But I loved our conversations. He was never tooo busy to ask how you were doing. I remember once we both bought beautiful glass containers at the Gallery shop sale and we talked about how we had seen a deal that other's hadn't - we were always happy to share home design ideas and thrift scores. I'll always remember Adam's zest for life - he was a bon vivant - gifted in so many ways, but particularly in bringing people together and making them feel special. He did that for all of us and I will remember him with love in my heart. 

I am so saddened by the passing of Adam. My sincere condolences to his mom, Marcie and his Aunts, Uncle and cousins. While not related to Adam, I always felt I was. He was very special to me as I got to know him when he was a baby and I could hold him in my arms. He was adored by everybody who had contact with him and he was the most genuine and caring person I have ever known. Heartbroken and cannot imagine the pain and sorrow for Marcia and his family but know his golden heart and soul will always be as strong in his death as it was in his life that will carry his wonderful memory forward forever. I love you Adam and may you rest in peace.

	Adam will always have a place in my heart and our shared memories will continue to bring light into my life. I will always remember our numerous trips to Toronto Island where we had such beautiful days appreciating nature. I always new when we got back to the mainland that there would be delicious food that would rival Gordon Ramsey. I remember a beautiful day where some friends sat around a table in Marcie’s beautiful garden and we shared a lavish all day Mediterranean meal that she prepared to celebrate his return from a long vacation. The dishes were from places he traveled and as we feasted, Adam regaled us with stories of his adventures. Thank you Adam for introducing me to my favourite entertainer, Bill Murray. These beautiful days will stay in my heart eternal. 

Adam, my most precious angel, you were and always will be my lodestar, my guiding light, my focus and my direction in life, my sunshine, my moon and my stars.  My most valuable treasure.  For the past 36 years, everything I did was for you.  You have been my reason for living.  I adored you from the moment you were born.  You were the absolute best son that I could ever have wanted.  I was so privileged to be your mother.  You taught me as much as I taught you.  Adam, you will always be a huge piece of our lives and our hearts.  Somehow, I have to learn to live a new chapter in my life without you.  My cherished Darling, there is so much more that I still needed to share with you.  Your voice will now be my voice.  Loving you always and forever more, Mom  

I always looked forward to crossing paths with Adam at work.  I'll always miss that. Such a wonderful person. He will always be in my prayers. 

Adam was a friend of mine. We shared a love of Toronto history, cooking and travelling. Adam was a gracious host and always so generous. On our boys trips he would always insist on preparing an elaborate meal for the group. I'll forever remember the fresh seafood dinner he prepared in Provincetown. My condolences go out to Adam's family and many friends. He will be missed. 

Dear Adam's family.  I am a colleague of Adams from the AGO.  I just wanted to let you know how sad I am to hear of Adam's passing.  My prayers are with you during this difficult time.    Adam was such a light to me as I am sure to you.  Adam and my paths crossed many times, even though I worked part time and in Visitor Services, however we always had a laugh or two.  Even within the last several years, we never missed an opportunity to say hi and have a little laugh even if it was the weather or lack of items on the menu, or to slip me some hot sauce.  Thank you for the lovely person you raised and I pray that during these difficult times you hold dear those wonderful memories of him, as I will.  Let perpetual light shine upon him and may he rest in peace.

My favourite moments with Adam was being able to spend quality time in his Parkdale apartment. He took so much pride in his personal space.  He showcased his designer collectables, vintage chairs and antique shop acquisitions that made it feel like you were visiting a perfectly curated museum exhibit.   

We would endlessly rewatched episodes of Frasier and Adam could always crack me up with his imitations of Niles Crane that he memorized from the show,  "Saucepans in summer, crepe pans in fall, when winter's upon us, there's food for us all." 

He loved cooking for others and spent hours on Epicurious, his favourite food ap,  in search of the best recipes to cook for us.  On the first day of good weather after the winter he would setup his patio and invite everyone over for a BBQ and spoil us with his culinary creations.

Adam, I have more style, more culture and more confidence because of you. I will think of you lovingly every day because you are a part of me.

I was waiting for you to arrive in the hospital, waiting to go in to the delivery room, when plans changed to a c-section, so I had to wait until you were finally here.  We called you our little peanut, so tiny you were.  We have so many memories over the years.  You were just a toddler when I was watching you one time, and you ran all the way down the strip mall before I could catch up to you.  You were so fast even then.  Fast forward to this year.  It was just a couple of months ago when you asked me to share with you my thoughts on spirituality.  I had put together a sample of 3 of my favourite books, which I was planning on sharing with you last week.  You were my only relative who expressed an interest in learning more about spirituality and I was so anxious to offer a few pearls of wisdom, but I didn't get the chance.  Now, you know the essence.  Your spirit will never die.  It will always be but a breath away.   All my warmest love, Aunt Gerry

Over the past decade we've spent an incredible amount of time together. We've shared victories, stories, and secrets. We've shared pains, fears, and troubles. We spoke often of how to be better - to the many visitors of the AGO, to our friends, and to ourselves. You always brought insights I hadn't thought of, and often brought bright ideas to the table. So much so, that I've found myself thinking things like, "What would Adam's approach be?" or "How would Adam make this thing better?". 
At times, Adam made me want to be better at what I do. And in time, Adam made me better at what I do. 
Our dinner dates will hold a special place in me, along with all of the countless memories we have shared. 
Adam, you will hold a special place in me. Your place will be in my stories, my victories, and my struggles, as the voice that always pushed me to do better. 

Remembering his wonderful and gentle soul will forever remain in our hearts.May he Rest In Peace.

Adam was a caring and loving friend.  Last year he particularly made my birthday a special and memorable one.  While we were shopping and preparing, Adam suggested to get flowers for the room.  Ever since then I have appreciated bringing simple and beautiful touches into our daily lives.  We will miss your sweet heart, Adam.  May you rest in peace.

I met Adam at a birthday party for our son, Kurt.  He was easy to talk to, interesting and genuine.  Adam talked so loving about his Mom and how hard of a decision it was to move into his own space.  He will be missed.

When Adam (Buddy) was a  little boy. I lived with him and his Mother, my cousin Marcie, in Etobicoke. On the weekends Buddy and I would go to the park. After the park we would go to Bun King. We would always get cinnamon knots. Buddy told me those were happy memories for him. They will always be happy memories to me. I wish we could have had cinnamon knots  many more times together.


Mark and I always loved coming  home from vacation because Adam would be waiting for us with hot appetizers and an amazing charcuterie platter.  We'd sit around, enjoy the fantastic food he made from scratch, and he'd listen as we told him about our trip.  We'd then put on a few episodes of the Simpsons, to which he could recite the lines.  This is how wonderful and thoughtful of a man Adam was.  Our hearts are broken.  We miss you so much.

Adam's birth brought my wife to Toronto so that I could eventually meet her. When Cynthia introduced him to me early in our relationship I was worried he might feel I was taking Cynthia away from him--it was a clear they had a close bond.  But Adam seemed to accept me right away and we began to get to know each other. There have been many memories over the years, but I especially remember one of his earlier jobs at the CN Tower where he was excited to spend some time with our son and take him on a tour. Even bought him a souvenir to remember the day. He was proud to be working and proud to be someone our son could look up to. And we were proud of him.  Sending so much love to his mom and the rest of the family. 

I am devastated that Adam died so young. He was a wonderful addition to any of my gatherings. He had amazing taste and was very generous and kind and could talk to anyone! I loved that about him and so did all my friends.  The beautiful wedding gift he got me is prominently displayed in my living room and will now forever remain there. Rest In Peace Angel. You will be missed. So sorry for the family’s loss, especially Marcie. As a mother I can’t even imagine how you are feeling.
