Yvonne A. Zelinski, 74, of Toms River, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at home. Yvonne was born in Newark, raised in Fords and eventually settled down in Toms River after she got married. At a young age her mother passed away and Yvonne helped raise her younger brother Robert and sister Angela, which forged their strong bond, as they raised their families together. She worked as a Home Health Care Nurse for over 20 years and truly cared about all of her patients. One of Yvonne’s favorite past-times was watching the Washington Redskins spar off against the NY Giants with her late husband Benny. Throughout her life she traveled often, spending cherished times with her family. Yvonne also loved her dog Sophie, who was her best friend for the last 15 years. She truly loved each one of her grandchildren and enjoyed attending their school and sporting events. Yvonne was also very excited that she became a great-grandmother for the first time. When her family was all together for events and holidays, Yvonne always had the biggest smile on her face. One of her favorite meals was french toast, which was her signature order every time she went out to eat.
Yvonne has a wide circle of family that will miss her; daughter Genine Mattice; daughter Lisa Casper and her husband Joseph; son Anthony Zelinski and wife Jennifer; brother Robert Altieri and wife Helen; her sister Angela Chilipka and husband George; six grandchildren; Aleshia, Ethan, Aidan Emma, Benjamin and A.J.; great grand-daughter Margaux; nephews Jason, Eric, and Sean; all of her cousins; her loyal dog Sophie; and so many close friends. Greeting her on the other side is a special circle of loved-ones. Her parents Alfonzo and Jennie Altieri, and her nephew Caesar Altieri, all of whom she spoke about often and missed everyday. One of the people she missed most was her husband and the love of her life Benjamin Zelinski. She just recently said to not be sad when she goes, but be happy because she will be with him.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 9, 2019 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River.. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 130 St. Maximilian Lane, Toms River. Cremation will be private.
