William J. Vogt, Sr. ( Bill, Pops, Pop-Pop ) died on Friday April 24 in Toms River, NJ at the age of 83. Bill is survived by his wife, Eileen nee Clines, children William Jr., Martin, Patrick, Maureen, Michael, Colleen, and Kathleen and also 9 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife Dorothy nee Kozak, son Dennis and grandson Erik
Bill lived in Iselin, NJ for 52 years. He was an active parishioner in St. Cecilia’s RC Church, was a volunteer coach for the St. Cecilia’s Golden Knights Pop Warner football team and was a member of their Knights of Columbus. Bill served honorably in the Korean War as a Sargeant in the US Army. Since moving to Toms River in 2009. he was active in the Veteran Administration.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday April 29, 2015 from 4 to 8 PM at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday April 30th at 9:30 AM at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Toms River, NJ. Interment will follow at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ. Flowers are welcome or donations may be made in Bill’s honor to the Wounded Warrior Project.
