William Robert Schroeder, 89, of Toms River, NJ, passed on April 1, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Newark, NJ, he lived for 55 years in Kearny, NJ before moving to Toms River. Bill worked for over 40 years, until his retirement from PSEG.
As a young boy, Bill was an alter server at St Rose of Lima Church. During his young adulthood, he played basketball and was a lightweight boxer. His love of sports continued throughout his life as he enjoyed watching March Madness, The Masters and the NFL monitoring his weekly football ticket picks.
Bill worked hard to always provide for this family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his grandchildren, especially as young children. Upon becoming young adults, Bill loved joking with them and hearing all about their adventures.
He is welcomed to heaven by his loving wife Barbara, his sisters Margaret and Grace, and his parents Julia and William.
Bill is survived by his three children, Debra, William, and Cynthia, spouses Debbie and Steve, and his grandchildren Erik, Samantha, Zachary, Amanda, Evan, and Courtney.
He will be sorely missed and always in our hearts.
Due to Covid-19 concerns the family is having a private viewing, funeral mass, and entombment. A memorial will be planned to properly celebrate Bill and Barbara’s lives hopefully later in 2021.
