It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Walter H. Schmidt Jr., a cherished partner, brother, uncle, and friend. Walter left us on May 15, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and extraordinary culinary talent.

Walter's passion for cooking was ingrained in him from a young age, thanks to his father and the family restaurants, Sir Walters Pint and Pound and The Beachwood Diner. He honed his skills in the kitchen, creating mouthwatering dishes that brought joy to all who tasted them. Walter's love for cooking brought people together, forging lasting memories and cherished moments.

His love and commitment to his partner, Maria Cresitello, were an inspiration to us all. Their unwavering bond stood as a testament to the power of companionship and shared experiences. Walter and Maria supported each other, finding immeasurable joy in their time together. Walter held a special place in the hearts of his sisters, Christine Gordon (Bowen Sussman) and Lorraine Utter (Mark Utter). Their unbreakable sibling bond was filled with laughter, support, and boundless affection. The void left by Walter's passing will be deeply felt by his sisters, who will forever cherish the precious memories they created together. As an uncle, Walter showered his nieces and nephews with love and guidance. Taryn Obssuth (Justin Obssuth), Shaun Utter, Dane Estler, Kyleigh Estler, Jared Sussman (Nicole Braccio), Devin Sussman, Kiana Gordon, Young Dane Estler, Lila Isles-Gordon, Eliza Obssuth, Sylvie Obssuth and Azra Sussman were fortunate to have Walter in their lives.

His wisdom, kindness, and nurturing spirit will forever resonate in their hearts as they carry his memory forward. Walter's loyal feline companion, Daisy, held a special place in his heart. Their bond was a testament to the profound connection between humans and animals, offering solace, comfort, and unwavering love. Daisy will undoubtedly miss Walter's presence, just as he will forever hold a place in her furry heart. While we grieve the loss of Walter H. Schmidt Jr., we also celebrate the vibrant life he lived and the indelible mark he left on all of us. His culinary talents, warm-hearted nature, and unwavering love for family and friends will continue to inspire us in the years to come.
