Walter J. Kozak, 82, of Berkeley Twp. died on Saturday April 28, 2012 at Van Dyke Hospice at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Perth Amboy, NJ, he was a lifelong resident there until moving to the Holiday City Heights section of Berkeley Township 19 years ago. Walter was a US Veteran having served in the Korean War. Walter was a supervisor for Shell Oil Company in Sewaren, NJ retiring 19 years ago after 40 years of service. He was a volunteer fireman and member of the First Aid Squad in Perth Amboy for 40 years and was a volunteer for the Holiday City Heights First Aid Squad.
Walter is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Helen Smarsch Kozak; son Kenneth and his wife Elisa Kozak of Brick, NJ and his grandson Brendan Kozak. He was predeceased by his two brothers Edward and Henry Kozak.
Visiting hours will be Tuesday May 1st from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08755. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Toms River on Wednesday May 2, 2012 at 9:30 AM. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Toms River, NJ.
