Vivian Ethel Johnson, age 92, passed away peacefully at home on July 2, 2024. Born in Union, she lived in Keansburg and Belford before moving to Toms River in 1969. During her life, Vivian was a Girl Scout leader, waitress, secretary, loving wife, and best mom and grandmother ever.
She was a dedicated member of the First United Methodist Church since 1969, where she actively participated in many evens for the Methodist Women’s Society. Her favorite activities included the Christmas bazaar, church breakfasts, rummage sales, and church mission events. Devoted to her family, she also enjoyed many hobbies: camping, boating, bowling, sewing, knitting/crocheting, and crafting.
Moving to Silverwoods in 2018, she enjoyed making many new friends and participating in countless activities. Predeceased by her husband, Thomas Leo in 2018 and her son, Thomas Walter in 2020. Vivian is survived by her children: Cathy (Bob) Bialuk of Forked River, NJ, and Chris Johnsons (Dee Cardone-Fiance) of Forked River, NJ.
She was loved by her grandchildren: Megan (Adam) Lofgran, Devin DeCesare, Matt (Ashley) Bialuk, Jessica (Allen) Uibopuu, Kyle (Elina) Johnson, and Shay Johnson. She was a great-grandma to nine great-grandchildren: Porter, Jackson, Asher, Anders, Finn Lofgran, Tommy DeCesare, Autumn, Jaxon Uibopuu, and Olivia Bialuk.
There will be a memorial service at First United Methodist Church, 129 Chestnut Street at Old Freehold Road, Toms River, NJ 08753, on July 24, 2024 at 12pm.
