Vincent Bove

Vincent J. Bove, 89, of Toms River, NJ passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday January 18, 2024. Vinnie was born in Newark, NJ to Lucy and Gennaro Bove. He graduated from Barringer High School in Newark, NJ in 1951. In 1957, Vinnie married Nancy Scrofani and was happily married for 66 years. He obtained a degree in electronics and went on to open Vinnie’s T.V. in Carteret, N.J. Vinnie was a past president of Central Jersey Dealer’s Association and a 50 year member of the Knights of Columbus. He retired and moved to Toms River in 1995.

Vinnie was quite the athlete. He excelled in both basketball and baseball. He played for the Philadelphia Phillies farm team where he continued his love of baseball. His hobbies included bowling and fishing. Later on in life he enjoyed watching the N.Y. Yankees on tv and spending time with his family, especially his four great grandchildren.

Vinnie is survived by his loving wife Nancy. Two daughters, Joanne Brown and her husband Robert, Diane Bove and her partner David Frischenmeyer. Two grandchildren Ryan Brown and his wife Shannon, Shannon Dunn and her husband Daniel and his four great0grandchildren Emily, Jordan, Alexander and James.

Vinnie is predeceased by one sister Carmalina Beatrice and her husband Michael.

He will be truly missed by his family, extended family and friends, but fond memories of Vinnie will continue in all our hearts.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday January 23, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday January 24, 2024 at 10:00 am at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church 130 St. Maximilian Lane Toms River, NJ 08757.
