Thomas Dennis McAbee

Thomas Dennis McAbee, 70, of Toms River, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Newark, he resided in Belleville before coming to Toms River in 2004. He was employed by Mayfair Foodtown, as a Department Manager for 30 years before his retirement. Dennis was an avid baseball card collector and sports enthusiast. He loved his family, trains and playing with his grandchildren. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a Military Police Officer in Landstuhl, Germany from 1965 to 1967. He was predeceased by his parents, Holly and Marion McAbee. Surviving are his wife, Catherine (Racht) McAbee; his son, Stephen McAbee and wife Cyndy; his daughters, Rosanne Hogenbirk and husband David and Christine Gallagher and husband Thomas and his brother, James McAbee. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Heather, Stephanie, Matthew, Thomas, Erin and Ryan; great-granddaughter, Kaylee and many nieces, nephews and cousins.Visiting will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18 at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River. A funeral Mass to celebrate his life will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19 at St. Joseph's R. C. Church, 685 Hooper Ave., Toms River. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Toms River.
