Susan Darlene Gonzalez, 65, of Howell, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2016, surrounded by her loving family, after a short battle with cancer. She was born in Neptune and graduated Ann May School of Nursing in 1979. She worked as a nurse at Jersey Shore Medical Center and Meridian Health. She was outgoing and full of energy. She made friends wherever she went. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, travel and workout. She especially loved her grandchildren.
Susan is survived by her beloved husband, Dr. Jose Gonzalez; her sons, Michael (wife Winnie) of St. Augustine, FL, Fabian (fiancé Tracy) of Port Arthur, TX, and Jason (fiancé Marcelina) of Huntington Beach, CA; her daughters, Susan Nelson (husband Oscar) of Maiden Rock, WI, and Jill Trimmer, (husband Eric) of York, PA; her father, William “Red” McGrath Sr., and mother, Nancy Quigley, both of Tinton Falls; two brothers, William McGrath Jr. (wife Paula) of Whiting, and Andrew McGrath of Wanamassa; her sister, Shirley Brenan (husband Jeffrey) of Neptune; her grandchildren, Adrianne, Ian, Eli, Taylor, Christian, Kaylee, Damian, Marley, Ava, Tahlia, Kristy, Kerrie, Oksana, Olaf, Max, Zeke and Ruby; her great-grandson, Karter; and many caring nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 2, 2016 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River, NJ. Visitation will also be held on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Glendola Cemetery in Belmar, NJ.
